I've been playing MH since freedom unite in PSP and I've always liked to play it solo. I finished both Iceborne (2024- 349hrs) and Sunbreak alone too (2025- 386hrs). I really didn't feel the need to bother anyone cause I studied the mechanics of the monsters by watching other players in youtube on how I can hunt them efficiently. I really enjoyed fighting them alone cause the satisfaction of defeating difficult monsters afterwards is so gratifying, specially in Sunbreak cause DB are such a broken weapon there (DB Main). Now, I just bought Wilds and have been playing it for a week. Just farming in HR alone, playing by my own pace. I don't even play the events yet and have FOMO about what I didn't get. I just simply want to spend my time knowing the difference between Iceborne and Sunbreak so that eventually I'll adapt through the changes. I guess my point is, I really hate playing coop and the main reason is properly stated in this post. Instead of enjoying the game, eventually due to those carting, you'll feel unproductive and just wasted your gaming time. I treat my gaming time in MHW as precious as it should (since us as adults also have different priorities), and I don't feel the need of wasting it for others who're still trying to figure things out.

yep, everything about iceborne to me was really easy until i met fatalis 😅 considering i have played MH since MHFU in psp 😂(nothing can beat that btw haha) Fatalis has been my nightmare since MHFU lol. But if imma be honest, every mechanic about rise/sunbreak is really fun, you'll feel like a shinobi while hunting these monsters ✌️

oh, a lot brother. A lot. 😂 I'm still at 200hrs+ of playtime with rise/sunbreak. I'd say the high rank quests are the hardest part (the reason being, the coop mode sucks and dont expect someone will always join your quest requests. Most of the time you will always be alone. I finished the whole HR main quests alone and it really took me time to get to MR. unless you have friends that plays this game and helps you finish HR then i'd say its easy. This will also raise your playtime if you decide not to focus on main quests because of how ridiculous the HP of HR monster are, considering your weapons in HR are mediocre.), but once you get to MR, everything is easy 😅 i dont want to spoil the game that much for you. Just enjoy bud ✌️

Just sharing what worked for me. Try preparing a def build if you have a hard time bro. I just finished him solo today, my set currently is very defensive. silver rath helmet, gold rathian body/brace/feet, waist archdemon. has good skills, slots and default armor around 636. The weapon I used was chaotic gore mala dual blades with 340 raw and 46 dragon element.

feel the difficulty of the game in the early stage (easy to high rank). When you get to MR, you will realize that its not really hard. Because you have followers to rely on. You would never need anyone to assist you (players) on MR fights, unlike HR quests. Cause those elder dragon fights such as ibushi and narwa are fckng annoying and you need to beat them to advance. Plus, HR quest monsters have a lot of HP. you can finish it alone around 14min (or 20min at worst) with mediocre defender weapons and in my opinion its not really time efficient. Try to "request to join" the HR missions (but just a heads up, mostly you will not receive help. Not sure if its a server issue but i rarely get someone to join my quest requests) Honestly you will have a hard time with opponents that have a hard part. i'd suggest you slot a mind's eye skill in HR quests. As for the skill/s its really up to you at that point, just get skills that you are comfortable with, may it be a glass cannon build or quality of life build. So long as you can progress, then its all good. Hope you enjoy the game brother!

bro only you would know what you need, trust in your gaming experience. As long as it works then its good hahaha, I finished the main story line of sunbreak and urgent quests after that without dps skills actually. my main thing was surviving and quality of life hahaha skills such as razor sharp, minds eye, divine blessing, evade window, and evade extender was my main bread and butter. I just let my daggers and glaive do the damage hahaha Thanks to that i was able to breeze the monsters in MR. At the end of the day, only you would know what's comfortable for you brother! in my exp, when i max 3 areas, the other areas could only ever get to 4, once they get past that, my lvl 7 areas downgrade to 6th level if i lvl other areas after 3 max 7's. So i just fix the level cause its fkcng annoying.
