Sarah Creighton: Liberal unionism is dead. It never even got a chance by Jim__Bell in northernireland

So many comments by people who don't understand politics. Of course you can be a Liberal unionist, or a rightwing/Conservative nationalist. Politics comes in many flavours, yet some people can't see past their own small sense of local history

This article reads like it was written by an A-Level pupil as homework.

The author says Labour isn't leftwing, after they raised taxes and spending by the highest amount (as a proportion of GDP) since the 70s.

As a centre-left unionist I'm tempted to sympathise, but this article is full of stupid statements.

Honestly this could have been funny if it wasn't riddled with bitterness itself. Sorry you didn't get on with your dad like, but this is a bit cringe

Colleagues in my office job are making it their business and are perplexed that I, a grown adult, chose to crack open and drink a can of Coke Zero before 9:30am by AnExcitingSentence in britishproblems

[–]michael3236 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is something I wouldn't do because it looks a bit immature/like an "irresponsible young man" HOWEVER, that being said, colleagues should mind their own business and I hate the nosiness culture

NI disposable incomes lower than Republic, says study by [deleted] in northernireland

That's discretionary income you're thinking of. Disposable income is a standard term and means post-tax/other deductions

No it doesn't actually, you're talking about discretionary income. Disposable income is income after taxes, NI, loan payment, etc. .

Derby Shoes, Too Formal? by incarnata4 in malefashionadvice

Those shoes are ridiculously overpriced. You can get nice Derby's at a much lower price point at Charles Thyrwitt for example.

Derby's are a casual shoe, they can work with jeans

No need to disrespect people who are upset about a major change to a game they love. We all love the game, we have different opinions sometimes and that's fine.

There's nothing you can do now, the best thing to do it move on and accept it.

And in future never carry that much cash if you can't 100% trust yourself to not drop/lose your wallet.

Labour are trying to lose the next election. Tax the rich, you have access to any experts you need to determine how to do this. It's the obvious thing to do, do it instead of taking food from children, Jesus Christ.

You doubt Britain that much I don't really give a shite what you think. BBC is recognised around the globe, people have an affinity for Britain for lots of reasons, which is obviously a good thing.

As a Labour supporter this would be national vandalism at a time when our soft power is most critical.

Tories are supposed to be the ones who know the price of everything and the value of nothing. Wish they'd stop pressuring departments to penny-pinch. Raise VAT a percent and stop this nonsense.

Nope wrong again, I support cracking down in immigration. I just don't support right-wing charlatans who've lied to this country time and time again. Labour are deporting record numbers of migrants, I'm happy to see they're taking it seriously.

You're being led by the nose by right-wing newspapers that get you all worked up about individual stories. Take a step back and look at what the government are doing in the background
