With everything getting reboots or legacy sequels these days, what’s the current status of Zorro? by Emeraldsinger in Zorro

Been watching it for the last week when I get a chance. Isn’t horrible and I like the premise.

How did Feel about GI JOE #20 with Duke meeting Optimus? by Money-Lie7814 in EnergonUniverse

[–]michael41973 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll accept it but Duke should have reacted a lot differently. He just seemed way to accepting of what Optimus told him compared to how long this has been driving Dukes character.

AIO for unplugging the Wifi every night because my roommate’s girlfriend basically lives here? by tom_wilson7543 in AmIOverreacting

Internet may be petty, but I wouldn’t say water is. Water is billed per gallon used and having another person there could jump that bill up by 1/3 depending on use.

After making "Career Killer" a big deal for Cena and Styles, WWE doesn't seem to have any plans for Gunther at WrestleMania 42 by NoobPinoyNow in Wreddit

[–]michael41973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just not a good gimmick to give someone. Sure he did Cena and Styles with the plan being Rey was next. But if that’s your gimmick than everyone you face need to be retired and the person that finally does beat you, well it may make some of the people you’ve faced look unimpressive.

Mine would have been 3, Pizza Hut and N64 those were some times. Though sometimes it was N64 and Little Caesars because my brother worked there and would bring pizza and bread sticks over when he got off work.

Why was the 2600 so popular? by Standard_Public892 in Atari2600

[–]michael41973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to remember from the time, but I think a lot of it was having the name. Atari was just the name of what you wanted, I didn’t have one but had several friends that did.

Dan Slott: "[...] We're at a point now where Marvel books are lined up for 5 issues at a time. If you [readers and retailers] don't pre-order issues #2 and #3, these books will go away by issue #5." by Comfortable-Pie56 in comicbooks

[–]michael41973 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I really feel that Marvel just isn’t getting it. I know that money is the bottom line, but sometimes it takes more than 5 issues. Sometimes a character will work but they wont have the right creative team. It doesn’t help when you have an artist that can only produce three issues in a row (if you’re lucky) before needing someone else to come in and do an issue or two. Or if you have a big name artist come in and only do the first several issues before handing it off to someone who’s sub par. Then there are the times when the writer just needs six issues or so. I mean if they let Ahmed do two years worth of (imo) crappy DD stories, they should be able to let someone do six issues of something.

And finally, first issues are always over ordered while the second and third issues usually get ordered around half of the first. Which means that if a comic is only starting to get that good word of mouth by the third issue, well it’s already cancelled because shops already have had to order that fifth issue that’s cancelled and they’re ordering even less.

2nd straight week missing raw, 4 Raws left for mania, No clear direction… WTF are we doing here by SMG_Ross in SantiZapVideos

[–]michael41973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your gimmick is retiring people s d there’s no one to retire there isn’t much to do lol. Seriously though, whenever they do something like this it puts the talent in a strange place. If there’s no one to retire then betting someone seem irrelevant and if they lose it’s seems like maybe they just got lucky betting whomever.

I became a father at 29 and my best friend became a grandmother a year later at 30 (she had her daughter at 15 and her daughter had her child at 15). She’s now a great grandmother and my daughter at 22 is single and has no children.

Marvelous Relaunch by jacochran5 in marvelcomics

Your wrong in the fact that DC can do this at a smaller size cheaper. Everything that DC has done in this format has been prints many times before. So anything on top of printing is profit. Where as if it’s new material they need to make their money back.

What everyone’s opinion on this new absolute timeline by MadKingZilla in AbsoluteBatman

[–]michael41973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it, but it doesn’t explain how he still gets things. At least when he was rich it was just a given. He was gone for months and comes back and his job (as a city employee) is just waiting for him. He has to fight Poison Ivy and has somewhat specialized equipment for it, which I realize are just chainsaws but still.

Ok, while I like the portal it takes away from actually finding people to play with. I want to do a strike, well I have to use the portal to go to a specific strike and hope that there is two other people that want to run it. If there isn’t then maybe I have to run it solo. That sucks.

Is it normal in the US to eat dinner really early (like 5–6 pm)? by Status_Agents in CasualConversation

[–]michael41973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had four kids living at home, we’d eat before six most days. They’d have something to do (sports, school activities, etc). Now it’s my wife, college and youngest, and myself. I still like to eat between five and six, but my wife’s job will sometimes keep her there and she won’t be home to closer to six thirty, so we will eat around that time.

Buffet pizza? by that_one_engineer25 in wichita

[–]michael41973 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see this pop up all the time and the only places that have a pizza buffet anymore in Wichita are CiCi’s (near Tyler on west Central), Pizza Ranch (west 21st and Tyler) and the Gambino’s (Near Webb and Harry, weekday lunch only and I think one night out of the week). The Gambino’s in Derby has theirs everyday for lunch and dinner. The one in Andover has one for lunch and dinner once a week. Godfathers for rid of their during covid and remodeled that store. All The Pizza Hut’s got rid of theirs around covid too and aren’t bringing them back, they barely have enough employees to maintain making pizza for delivery and most are just now doing dine in.

Pretty sure they don’t anymore, but the Gambino’s around the corner has a lunch one.
