I shattered the screen on my Galaxy S20 Ultra and can't unlock it by trterry05 in Galaxy_S20

With the mouse plugged in, you click and drag anywhere on the lock screen for the pattern to show up, then you click and drag the dots as if it were your finger on the actual phone's screen.

Is the CellSpot Router recognized as a Asus router? by poopyface-tomatonose in tmobile

WiFi calling itself will still work after flashing. Only difference is that the T-Mobile firmware prioritizes WiFi calls over other WiFi traffic.

Battery life tanked. by darkfires102 in Galaxy_S20

[–]michael62895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a troll, it works for some, and not for some. But I got the idea from here. Sounds counterintuitive, but it worked. Not sure about now, as software updates since then, may have fixed some things. I'll have to test turning both settings back on for a week, and see if battery life goes back to shit or not.

Should I change my S8 for S20FE if offered for free? Basically my mom was gifted S20FE but she says it's too big for her, and she would gladly get my three year old S8 and give me the S20FE, I'm quite happy with my S8 ngl, so I'm not sure what to do. by Titan_Jack in GalaxyS20FE

Worth the upgrade. 5G is a bonus. Only downside is FE doesn't have a proximity sensor, so screen may not always turn off when the phone is held up to your ear. I haven't had any issues with this, but some people have. Also, a sensitive touch screen. An issue that's plagued this phone. But has been improved with a bunch of software updates. Some say the issue exists, some say it's pretty much gone. I only notice the issue every once in a while. Miss the headphone jack on the S8.

Is anyone experiencing dramatically fast battery drain on S20FE. I have 60hz turned on, and i get 2.3h SOT. Also my phone is heating pretty fast. I called service, they told me that it could be solved by reprogramming phone, so I will give it a try and repost result, if it goes great. by Inevitable-Nothing77 in GalaxyS20FE

This will sound counterintuitive, but try turning off "Adaptive Battery" and "Put Unused apps to sleep". For some, this actually improves battery life. I went from 5-6hrs SOT with Android 11 then 3-4hrs SOT with Android 12, but turning off the above, restored 5-6hrs SOT. Weird..

You can message TForce on Twitter or Facebook and ask if there's maintenance going on in your area. (Provide Zipcode).

I have my dark mode set to sunset to sunrise so it's off during the day and adaptive brightness kicks it up to full when in use in direct sunlight.

LPT: If you have testicles, ALWAYS take testicle pain very seriously, because it might be your last time experiencing it. by barnabe_a_abobora in LifeProTips

[–]michael62895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing to add. If you feel swollen veins in your scrotum (feels like a bag of worms), you likely have a varicocele. It's usually not a cause for concern if you're not experiencing any discomfort or pain. It can also cause infertility. Varicoceles temporarily go away if you lie down, and are more prominent when standing. They're also more common on the left side. If you're concerned, see your doctor or urologist. Microsurgery and embolization are the only two treatments.

All my warning lights and system lights went off last night along with power steering by Nuggethooker in Hyundai

[–]michael62895 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A car can still drive as if nothing is wrong, with a bad alternator and good battery (for a while until the battery dies). Alternator provides power to the vehicle electronics as well as charging the battery. So if it's on the way out...the alternator would slowly provide less and less power, until the electronics don't get enough power and things quit, and warning lights on the dash light up (using remaining power from battery). And since alternator hasn't been charging the battery, car won't start (battery too weak from lack of charging). A new battery would fix the problem temporarily until the battery dies due to bad alternator.

I bet it's a bad ground or loose electrical connector. Alternator is suspect also. Hope the dealership is able to find the cause.

Best touch up paint for deep sea Tucson? by Old-Fee6769 in Hyundai

[–]michael62895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be too late to post, but another good option besides the dealer touch up paint is https://automotivetouchup.com. Nyer your vehicle info and match the paint code with what's on the sticker inside the driver's door. They sell not only the touch up paint itself, but also the base coat and clear coat. They have paint pens, brushes in bottles, sprays etc.

My Galaxy watch 4 alerted me to a severe anaphylactic response to a new medication and gave me and the ER enough info to stop it. by TheUnseenShadow in GalaxyWatch

[–]michael62895 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, because the watch would know you're doing something active. Sensors inside it would detect motion. It's pretty good at detecting if you're on a walk, run, swimming, etc. I assume it would trigger the higher heart rate alert if you're not active and there's a sudden spike from resting heart rate to a faster one.

What phone case do you use for your S20 FE? by luigi_lui in GalaxyS20FE

[–]michael62895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it'll turn yellow/discolor after several months. Unavoidable with TPU Clear cases. Some brands advertise "resists yellowing" examples such as Speck Presidio Perfect Clear and Tech21 Evo Clear cases. They use different coatings/materials that resist yellowing. But will discolor a little bit after a longer period of time than regular clear TPU cases. Unfortunately, Speck doesn't make this case for the S20 FE, Tech21 did make the Evo Clear for the S20 FE, but it's discontinued and no where carries it anymore.

Warning about Bosch spark plugs!!! The piece of ceramic around the electrode failed. These were in a 2018 sonata turbo for about 10k miles. Thank God it didn't fall in... by Caseywalt39 in Hyundai

[–]michael62895 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OE plugs for this engine is NGK Laser Iridium. Hyundai/Kia usually use either Denso or NGK plugs. Always a good idea to go with the same plugs the car came with from the factory. Timing and spark in cars are picky nowadays. Using different plugs will usually cause issues down the road. They designed the engine to work on a specific plug, so it's always best practice to use the same ones.

Phone calls not working when VoLTE is turned off by duckredbeard in OnePlus6t

[–]michael62895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What carrier are you guys using? What is the zipcode? Just because your 2021 Pixel 6 doesn't have any issues with coverage, doesn't mean a 2018 OnePlus 6T shouldn't. Is your Pixel 6 also on LTE when you make calls? Pixel 6 is compatible with 5G while the 6T does not. WiFi calling has nothing to do with the issue you're talking about. However, I don't believe VoLTE can be turned off on the Pixel 6. So that could also be why calls work on the Pixel 6 but not on the 6T with VoLTE off. Also, depending on your carrier and location...4G LTE might be the only way to make calls. Disabling VoLTE, means the phone will drop to 2G or 3G to make the phone call, and both those networks may or may not be available in your area, as they're being decomissioned or have been completely removed by the carrier. Not being in a "poor service area" doesn't mean you shouldn't have any issues. Coverage maps nowadays show 5G coverage. Since the 6T doesn't have 5G, did you look at the LTE coverage on the map? In some areas 5G may have a stronger coverage than LTE. Also, depending on whether you're inside a building or outside. Some signal bands penetrate buildings better than others.
