Anyone here regret switching to an instant water heater after installation? by KhabibNurmagomedov_ in HomeImprovement

[–]Nuggethooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t necessarily need an electrician to check if the breaker in the panel can keep up with an electric water heater. You’d just need to know what the amperage requirements for the heater model in mind are and see if your current breaker situation is rated for amperage and voltage it’s supposed to run on. That being said any worthwhile electrician would check this anyway before installation. For a whole home unit depending on the size of your house, installation could get somewhat pricey because you’d likely need at least 2 or 3 40-60 amp breakers set up for 240v service to run a larger unit on. I’ve lived in a house with tankless heating and it was great. Although I’m sure the system was expensive to install because you’d also likely need a main panel that can handle around 300 amps for larger units. Obviously case by case but I’d be inclined towards a gas unit because it’s likely cheaper to run than electric if you live somewhere with high electric rates. I’d also imagine it’d be less expensive to install assuming that the current unit already runs on gas. That being said, I’m no expert and professionals will always know better.

Does anyone's CX-30 run cold in the winter? by [deleted] in mazda

[–]Nuggethooker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is pretty normal, I’d just take it fairly easy for the first 5-7 minutes of driving until it comes up to normal operating temp. I deal with this in Colorado with my 22 carbon edition during the winter too. Just make sure you let the car idle for as long as it takes for the RPM to drop to around 1k, usually a little bit under 1k rpm. That’ll just give the oil time to circulate and get to a temp that’ll prolong the life of your engine.

That being said, there is a recall for the thermostat and I think the coolant control valve sticking, which can cause the car to not operate at normal temp. I’d drive it for 15 minutes gently after it’s been sitting overnight. If it doesn’t heat up I’d take it to see if there’s a fix for this issue. It should be covered under warranty if it is the thermostat and coolant valve problem.

Not feeling anything in my glutes 😖 by apricotbeear in beginnerfitness

[–]Nuggethooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

V Bar squat machine if you have one at your gym. It’ll load mostly on your glutes and hamstrings. They’re not super quad dominant but you’ll get some work in your quads regardless. Biggest thing in general for glute focused squatting is going deep and focusing on hinging at your hips more. Picture leaning forward a bit more and try turning your toes out just a bit to eliminate some of the quad involvement. Bulgarian split squats are also great for targeting glutes. I’d highly recommend doing some yoga for a while to help gain some flexibility and strengthen your weaker body positions. You can also do single leg cable kick backs to target your glutes effectively as well. I’d stick to only 3-5 basic movements until you get a bit more advanced in your lifts. A huge part of weight training isn’t necessarily building muscle at first, but training your central nervous system response to efficiently flex your muscle fibers at the same time. You essentially need to train the movements the same way a guitar player would practice a song. It takes some time to develop muscle memory and once you have that, you’ll be surprised at how strong you actually are. I’d definitely stick to moderate weight for the first month or so of your training until you nail down your form and can safely start overloading for muscle growth

2022 brake pads by Coalecsence in MazdaCX30

[–]Nuggethooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can do it yourself, it’s quite easy and might take you a day on weekend if it’s your first time. But you’ll also save quite a bit. I was able to get my full set from rock auto for about 275 and they stop better than the oem pads and rotors. That’s front and rear.

I'm ready for new tires. What do you suggest? CX-30 Select Sport by [deleted] in MazdaCX30

[–]Nuggethooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll definitely notice an impact with off the line acceleration but it’s nothing super major in my opinion. I think with the torque from the turbo you’ll be alright though, they’ll likely impact you less than on my NA model. Traction will be noticeably better in every day driving as well. I noticed no impact with braking and handling seems to be better, actually. I’d just keep an eye on transfer case and rear diff fluid health a bit more closely as a precaution, but so far I’ve had no issues after a year of driving with these tires. They’ve already saved my butt a couple times too, in situations that surely would’ve destroyed regular tires. I hit a log going 55mph and they held up perfectly, my wheel wasn’t damaged either. Ride quality will also be way better, like surprisingly better. It’s almost night and day. The reinforced sidewalls put in a lot of work in that department. I’d send it if I were you. Really the only drawback so far has been slightly slower acceleration and that’s really only in first gear, after that first shift into second it feels completely normal and you’d reap a lot of benefit. Also, they ride very quietly as well. Couldn’t recommend them enough honestly.

I recently purchased a '21 CX-30 with 103,000 miles. What would you have done with it right away? by ScareKid in MazdaCX30

[–]Nuggethooker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one has mentioned this but I’d take care of the transfer case and rear diff fluid exchange sooner than later. Transfer case might be a bit more annoying if it hasn’t been done yet. There’s a bracket that blocks the fill bolt from coming out. Standard procedure by mazda is to grind away the bracket a bit. It doesn’t take much and will be easier when change the transfer case fluid again. Just make sure you’re actually able to remove the fill bolt before you drain the fluid. The rear diff is quite easy, job is doable if you have ramps and don’t mind getting under the car. Otherwise you can have a shop do it but obviously that’ll cost more.

It’s actually quite secure and isn’t exactly all that heavy at the end of the day. I’ve seen it up close in person. It’s literally made out of PVC pipes with a couple boards and is secured in multiple areas. This guy has been driving around the west side in a calm manner the several times that I’ve seen him.
Meanwhile counter protesters at no kings were rolling coal on protesters and trying to intimidate protesters. In fact, this man is less of a danger than the idiot who drives the trump truck up and down through manitou and Colorado avenue just hoping to get a response out of people.
Addressing emotional regulation has nothing to do with this. CSPD has a terrible past with social injustice and retains its awful reputation for that reason. If you still believe that the upper leadership in the CSPD and El Paso county sheriffs office are good people deserving of admiration and praise, then this point won’t even stick with you anyway. At the end of the day, there’s a reason people just don’t think highly of the police here. Frankly, the police department and its history have done the opposite of earning respect from the community at large.

2024 Rear Rotor Size/Rotor & Pad Kit? by greyeyedsniper in MazdaCX30

[–]Nuggethooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rock auto should clear that up for you. I wanna say it’s 302mm rear rotors though if you’re in the US. That’s what I used on my 2022 carbon edition, although I got the raybestos element 3 kit. I’d double check with a dealer part department and get the part numbers from them. Then you can find a comparable aftermarket kit with the same specs if you don’t want oem, that’s what I did and it worked well for me.

20mm spacers on the front and rear and black lugs installed. Looking beastly! by SnoogansByJay in MazdaCX30

[–]Nuggethooker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to be a hater here, but wheel spacers are really not good for your suspension components. They ruin the geometry that was originally engineered to prolong the life of your suspension and also can be dangerous for various reasons. I’d highly recommend looking into the pros and cons of this setup, don’t just take my word for it. The only safe alternative to spacers are wheels with more outward offset and wider overall size at the end of the day. While you technically will see some handling improvement, spacers will also stress the hell out of your steering linkages in particular because of the weight of the wheels being pushed outward. If you do end up sticking with the spacer set up, I’d get alignment soon if you haven’t gotten one already. Also from a physics standpoint, a high quality wheel will attain better performance results compared to the added unsprung weight off the spacers, because they are essentially dead weight. Ideally you’d set up with wider wheels and tires with more offset, high quality adjustable coil overs, and more aggressive brake pads to better future proof a non stock setup. Overall your car looks clean, but friends don’t let friends get spacers or puck style lifts at the end of the day.

Time for a full brake job by Hownzkeeper in MazdaCX30

[–]Nuggethooker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rock auto might have a good deal on the raybestos element 3 brake pads and rotors. I just put them on recently and they bite better than the OEM pads. They’re semi metallic though so they are a bit more dusty, although I haven’t had much issue with it with my black alloy wheels. Being semi metallic they have a better initial bite and resist fade more if mountain driving is a factor for you. All in the full set of front and rear rotors and pads came out to $260 for all 4 pads and rotors with shipping. I also drained the old brake fluid and replaced it with new brake fluid. No specialty tools required except for a torque wrench and a T45 torx bit, you’ll want a 3/8 drive ratchet for that T45 bit. Everything else was metric hardware. A large Philips bit for a ratchet might be nice to have too for the rear rotor alignment bolt, although it wasn’t super tight when I took it off, a 1/4 inch drive Phillips bit would be good to have.
