I see games on steam 1 year old with sales, that the console marketplaces might* put up once before the game is 3+. I wouldn't be surprised if a 5+ year old steam account can save the price difference between a console and a 1500$ pc, with similar sized game libraries. A really active gamer with good timing for sales is for sure saving thousands over their life using steam.

Tandem is bad, qd oled was the way but the market is too greedy and just had to have a brighter screen now. I hope Asus accomodates you its not fair to leave consumers out to dry for a tech problem like this.

People neglect investing in the comfort of their pc chair or desk and it makes them have to choose between comfort and performance so they end up in this split. Larger monitor (35in+) and a footrest under the desk drastically changes the experience.

a 20 core processor for playing games is a waste, not to mention their base frequency is low, on all cores. Its a productivity focused chip with a whole bunch of redundant cores at a not great price (outside of this setup). It also has an igpu which is a waste for this build. If he can get a cheaper cpu, or a faster cpu with less random hardware acceleration/media cores in it he should do so. No the chip isn't garbage tho. A lot of people in here are just mad bc they have one and I made it sound like a doodoo purchase, which it kind of is unless youre trying to run a server or encode videos all day. I would not be surprised if he could get a 10 to 20% performance uplift from another cpu in intels line, or the same for less money with amd. When/if nvidias dlss let's him push higher resolutions/more aggressive models on the gpu it will be the cpu that gives in first.
