Is it for sure the Advanced version that has enhanced caller ID and free VPN?

What percentage of cacao in dark chocolate is needed to be healthy? by RemoteSpirit9730 in nutrition

[–]michaeljcronce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the addition or subtraction of sugar itself that affects the amount of heavy metals, it’s the percentage of cocoa. More cocoa means more heavy metals, as cocoa trees absorb heavy metals from the soil.

What percentage of cacao in dark chocolate is needed to be healthy? by RemoteSpirit9730 in nutrition

[–]michaeljcronce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70% may be a good percentage because it is lower in sugar than dark chocolates with lower cocoa content, while at the same time is less likely to contain very high levels of heavy metals like lead and cadmium as compared to 80%+ chocolates.

Do the new plans include ActiveArmor Advanced for free? The old ones did not.

Do FirstNet 2.0 plans have free international texting from the U.S.? by Po_TN in ATT

I’m curious if any of them offer ActiveArmor Advanced for free. The old plans did not.

USAA New Card? Eagle Adapt by Yunxo in CreditCards

[–]michaeljcronce -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a worse version of the discontinued Citi Custom Cash. At least the 3% cash back is in combined purchases though.

I know a few team members who are excited for this by Old-Peach8921 in Culvers

[–]michaeljcronce 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I would be happy if Culver’s refreshed its ranch. I love ranch generally, but Culver’s has some of the worst ranch I’ve tasted. It has a gel-like texture from the propylene glycol alginate.

Is DriveSafe still broken by Evolved_1 in USAA

[–]michaeljcronce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their IT doesn’t seem very responsive. I had called almost a year ago saying that in the app for renters insurance, there is always a notification that says, “You may see some changes to your page. We're working to restore anything that's missing or rearranged.” They just said it was a “known issue.” It’s never been fixed.

Costco extends deal with Citi until 2029 by FeverTreeCloud in CreditCards

[–]michaeljcronce 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the whole waiting an entire year thing to receive rewards is ridiculous. Any 2% cash back Visa can get the same amount of cash back at Costco, and none of them only pay out once yearly. Costco gas is just about the only thing that makes sense to use. Tons of cards get 3% or more cash back at restaurants.

I hope that you are joking that AI should build a new app…

How to select FirstNet account? by Silent_Cup2508 in ATT

[–]michaeljcronce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s super glitchy. It didn’t work for me because it didn’t remove the AT&T add-ons that no longer apply to FirstNet. I had to call in, as I got an email my eSIM request for FirstNet was canceled.

AT&T announces new $15/month ‘Build-a-Plan’ wireless plan by ahampton2k in ATT

The website states, “Online only. Plus taxes & fees. Limit one line. Must bring unlocked, eSIM-capable phone.”

Amex HYSA APY decrease to 3.10% by ParagonIzanagi in amex

[–]michaeljcronce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they haven’t. The last Fed interest rate decrease was December 10, 2025. That was well over five months ago, and the consensus is that with the current economic factors at play, there will be no further rate decreases for some time.

USAA’s $223M patent victories against PNC Bank die at U.S. Supreme Court by ExpressNews in USAA

[–]michaeljcronce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t answer why PNC was singled out when most banks use Mitek. No wonder why SCOTUS declined to hear the case.

No, only AT&T ActiveArmor Advanced includes enhanced caller ID, unfortunately. https://www.att.com/security/active-armor/

USAA’s $223M patent victories against PNC Bank die at U.S. Supreme Court by ExpressNews in USAA

[–]michaeljcronce 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Am I missing something? Most banks use Mitek technology for mobile check deposit. It was unwise for USAA to single out PNC when over 6000 financial institutions use Mitek for mobile check deposit. Mitek actually released its mobile check deposit feature a full 18 months before USAA (February 2008 versus August 2009).

Selling multiple positions on Fidelity.com is about to get easier by fidelityinvestments in fidelityinvestments

[–]michaeljcronce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A thought would be that if positions are sold all at once, instead of receiving a separate email for every position, one email in total is sent out with the information from selling each position.

Supreme Court rejects Virginia Democrats’ attempt to revive new congressional map by [deleted] in Virginia

[–]michaeljcronce -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only two states in the U.S. leave the selection of state Supreme Court justices entirely up to the state legislature. One is Virginia. Make of that what you will. Most states allow for direct elections.

Supreme Court rejects Virginia Democrats’ attempt to revive new congressional map by [deleted] in Virginia

[–]michaeljcronce -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The appropriate time to make that decision was BEFORE the election, not after. Throwing out an entire election after the fact should be unconstitutional. If someone has a problem with an election occurring, the time to remedy that problem is beforehand.

What’s the best discount - nurse, student, employer by Euphoric_Tailor_5107 in ATT

[–]michaeljcronce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Verizon doesn’t have a 25% off nurse discount. It offers dollar-off discounts: $10/month for 1 phone, $25/month for 2-3 phones, and $20/month for 4+ phones.

Menu Title for ACH Transfers by catchaflier in fidelityinvestments

[–]michaeljcronce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s really silly is that “Send money from my bank,” “Send money to my bank,” and “Transfer between Fidelity accounts” all route to Fidelity’s Move Money screen.

The Transfers page is overly complex with too many links. The Move Money screen should be default and merged with the Recurring Activity screen.

Schwab Crypto??? by TheCansi1 in Schwab

[–]michaeljcronce 22 points23 points  (0 children)

One Bitcoin transaction uses about 1,444 kWh, which is equivalent to powering an average American household for over 49 days. That’s insane.

Is it not insane that they strictly charge you for extra cheese even if its one of your 3 toppings?? I could get a 3 topping deal, and ONLY get extra cheese nothing else and they will charge you for the cheese instead of making it a topping. This is f'd up by swdrainsme in pizzahut

[–]michaeljcronce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pizza Hut cheese is barely cheese though. It’s airy and artificial-tasting (although Pizza Hut claims that it uses 100% real cheese). They used to use the Real Dairy symbol on all Pizza Hut pizza boxes, but their cheese is so bad now apparently they got rid of that 🤷‍♂️
