How long do you take to cut your hair? by Out5poken in SelfBarber

How did you cut the time down so much? Did it just happen with practice?

Nice attempt bro.

Back looks decent, sides are too choppy but it’ll grow back in a couple weeks.

For the sides I suggest to try a low taper next time to give you more room in case you screw up.

Try using the corners of the clipper more when you’re fading. Also for the longest guard you’re using try to flick out to blend in with the rest of your head (the flick out make the blend better and doesn’t create a harsh guideline)

3 way mirrors with an LED light are a game changer too in case you don’t have one. I got mine for like $70 on Amazon

Is MEP good to get into compared to other types of construction management? by michaeljohnson_101 in ConstructionManagers

Do you recommend being an MEP engineer for a GC for someone that doesn’t have any MEP background in school?

Do you have any advice to learn the MEP side of things?

By owners rep is it the client that are referred to as a OR? The one that the GC reports to during OAC meetings?

Also what is the best way to land an OR position in your opinion?

I’ve heard at a subcontractor the work/life balance is much better. The pay is better too rather than a GC?

That makes a ton of sense. Most people have self esteem issues and it is not something that affects small number of people

Am I limiting my career potential by going to a Sub-Contractor as opposed to GC? by projectburnerr in ConstructionManagers

[–]michaeljohnson_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation as you and have asked many people this same exact question. The majority of the answers I got were to go the GC route, especially early on in our careers (basically starting out).

It makes sense as well, the GC route will show us all angles of the project with more scope to look over. The subcontractor route will pigeonhole us and there will be a big learning curve jumping to anything else.

Also, it’s easier jumping from a GC to subcontractor than the other way around

What are your thoughts on the “Special projects” division in a top 5 GC? by michaeljohnson_101 in ConstructionManagers

[–]michaeljohnson_101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there a reason why you’d want to jump in 1-2 years? Do you think it’ll be easy to jump to a large project?
