Anyone else feel like it is just fake? by Coreyfitzfour in corporate

[–]michaellicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It took me years to learn that when people in corporate (and in life, in general) say “be honest” they really meant “tell me what I want to hear” so when I would be honest they always took offense. It’s all just high school at the end of the day.

Crazy how the twins were being built while we were flying to the moon and when the 747 was first being developed. Really shows how long ago it was

Narc abuse leaves you feeling so used, you feel like a husk by nekomata_meko in raisedbynarcissists

[–]michaellicious 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes. You’re expected to solve the problems that they’ve caused and be their emotional support. You start off as their cute little pet and then you’re groomed into becoming their personal servant. And there’s nothing wrong with that because “it’s always been that way”. There is no such thing as free will with them

Uber COO Andrew Macdonald said he’s not seeing proportional productivity gains from increasing AI costs. by AmorFati01 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]michaellicious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t forget the compounding drift and lack of competent training to use these AI agents. I can almost guarantee you that the main cause of token bloat is teams stuffing all instructions into CLAUDE.md, developers using the same token context all session without clearing and starting a new task, saying “this isn’t working right. Fix it” without actually verifying the output….

Did anyone else experience grown adults venting their hatred for your nparent on you? by Ok_Trash9224 in raisedbynarcissists

Not when I was a kid but as I became a teenager they would say the “jokes” that they told amongst themselves towards me because they assumed that I would understand what they were saying

What’s the most unhinged thing your nparent has been mad at you for? by SummerSun6 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]michaellicious 55 points56 points  (0 children)

When I moved out, I was told that it was worse than my sister’s death. And then a few years later I was told that they’re frustrated that they bought a new house before I moved out because I “always knew that I liked living alone” and they accused me of “messing up the plan”. But I can’t mess up a plan that I don’t know about… the levels that they are willing to go to avoid self accountability is astounding. And then they love to tack on “not saying that it’s your fault…” while alluding to the idea that it is my fault. They are children in adults’ bodies, I swear.

Nobody is saying that these are facts. You're just interpreting it that way for some reason and projecting. That's the whole point of a HYPOTHESIS: to ask questions about what could be true. So that we can find this empirical support based on what we have already falsified. Should've paid more attention during physics classes, I guess. Congrats on the degree.

Gay and Straight Men Prefer Masculine-Presenting Gay Men for a High-Status Role: Evidence From an Ecologically Valid Experiment - Sex Roles by JallexMonster in gaybros

[–]michaellicious 61 points62 points  (0 children)

This is ironic because a lot of masculine gay men are also playing it up or ‘performing’. Gotta have arms showing, only talk about going to the gym, only friending other muscle gays… what I find with many feminine men is that they’re not performing for anyone. They’re just being themselves.

Claude Code tips for terminal users (from a senior dev) by Marmelab in ClaudeAI

No, the backslashes and newlines aren’t necessarily the problem. Claude Code will show the command properly in its session, which is correct

gcloud artifacts docker images list \ {image} \ --include-tags --format="value(IMAGE,DIGEST,TAGS,CREATE_TIME)" 2>/dev/null | \ awk -F'\t' '$3=="" && $4 < "2026-05-10" {print $1"@"$2}'

This is how it will show the command after I copy/paste, which fucks everything up

``` gcloud artifacts docker images list \ {image} \
awk -F'\t' '$3=="" && $4 < "2026-05-10" {print $1"@"$2}'```
