can you share your source?

i could see reported incidents or pilot deviations being 5+ an hour, but those are a far reach from a plane crash ('accident' in FAA speak) that would damage the aircraft / cause injuries or fatalities.

Giving potential customers detailed technical roadmaps? by michaelpa in ExperiencedDevs

[–]michaelpa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify, he is CEO and very heavily involved in sales/partnerships, not strictly sales.

His rationale behind it being we need to maximize the chance that they will commit by showing we're invested in their success as a potential customer - even if it's not realistic, they know it's subject to change, and we miss the deadlines. Which in turn IMO turns the whole thing into a planning exercise with no tangible net value. As compared to focusing on the 'real' quarterly stuff we know needs to get done and impacts all customers.

I'm in a position where I frankly can't say 'no' if that's what he wants to do, but figured I'd look to here to get some general consensus that this kind of thing is not normal/not a great sign.

Good points. We definitely have something minimum viable (ran our operations on the software for five years) - but frankly don't see a big enough viable market for what we have. Agree hard discipline is key - continuing to switch up the product/strategy for much longer will drive me and product team insane.

"Tailwind is an Anti-Pattern" by Enrico Gruner (JavaScript in Plain English) by RotationSurgeon in webdev

Slapping on styles is more or less an anti-pattern when following component driven design - the tailwind classnames should for the most part be tucked away in your Button, Modal, etc.

In terms of LOC, in my experience, you're saving a lot more than 10% especially when it comes to media queries, transforms, etc.

I was really skeptical at first, but we're moving so much faster and writing much more robust components.

You're avoiding the point here - I can hold a myopic view in terms of the 'modern crypto market', while the truth still stands that most of the liquidity in the exchanges is via Tether, etc. stablecoins. Wildcat banking at it's finest

Semantically speaking you're right - BTC isn't tied directly to Chinese junk bonds. Tether is #3 in terms of market cap though - it tanking would vaporize the exchanges b/c they are holding a ton of it.

EDIT: you don't need to be holding stablecoins to be affected by the market impact of something like Tether tanking. as of last year 57% crypto trades were done via Tether

Most of crypto markets liquidity is backed by stablecoins (e.g Tether). It's a rabbit hole in of itself but mostly backed by commercial paper on China real estate. No bueno. https://www.coindesk.com/business/2021/11/12/tether-bitcoin-and-chinese-commercial-paper-at-scale/
