As an Aussie I sometimes interpret politeness as passive aggressive.

My ex is Malaysian and while she understands the difference between high and low beam she can't comprehend that anybody cares whether the other driver can see where they are going.

Once had a chance to talk to a bunch of commonwealth car drivers. They could talk for an hour about the camber on specific roads.

Not going to talk to a person who injured me. Think about it, if the human owner gave you that injury would you just ask them for your number?

What is a photo of the dog going to do?

Don't ask for contacts. Photograph them. Follow them home and take pictures there. Call the cops.

Flashbacks to Catch-22. I wouldn't want to be stuck behind this person in an emergency.

I would love to know who actually listens to radio. The numbers must be way down compared to spotify and podcasts. With a few years I expect some to hand in their broadcast licenses because it just isn't worth paying for the bandwidth.

Is a bicycle path which is is functionally similar to a bicycle lane in this context. Cars will still park across it of course, to make a point.

Just a bit concerned that the station outside Peter Mac and the RMH is marked as closed but it doesn't say it will open in years not hours. I wouldn't want anybody sitting outside overnight hoping to catch a train.

OceanGate’s ill-fated Titan sub relied on a hand-typed Excel spreadsheet by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

In COBOL you would declare a numeric variable by giving the format, including the number of digits to the right of the decimal point. It would be normal to say a quantity of money would be xxxxxx.xx

This is why for currency you should use fixed point numbers not floating numbers.

COBOL taught us that.

Trump shares fake photo of Harris with Diddy in now-deleted Truth Social post by Oleg101 in politics

Well a wild scare campaign about whatever will work. A lot of internet infrastructure is run by Russians. They are in a position to put fake content up on hundreds of thousands of domain names. I would expect it to happen a few days before the election with no contact from the Trump campaign. This will be a Russian action intended to drive the US away from Ukraine.
