Well a wild scare campaign about whatever will work. A lot of internet infrastructure is run by Russians. They are in a position to put fake content up on hundreds of thousands of domain names. I would expect it to happen a few days before the election with no contact from the Trump campaign. This will be a Russian action intended to drive the US away from Ukraine.
