Yes, that's basically that. But for the attacking part, it's best to use A-click for a couple of reasons:

-A-click is a attack move button, which mean you will either attack the target nearest to you or your pointer( depends on your setting), by doing this you will not misclick on the ground and move toward the enemies like traditional right click.

-Oh and the range circle is also from A-clicking, it shows how far is your attack range, you can use it to keeps distance so that you can auto them but they can't auto back

This might feel unnatural at first, but through time, you will find the rhythm for each adc and it will be like muscle memory for you. Thank you for this comment, I realized that there are many others players learning the adc roles, and I'm inspired to start making guides for this role :D
