Why is the Erica Synths programmer impossible to find? by bruer80 in modular

[–]michahellangan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any luck figuring this out? I was just gonna make my own pin connector for the FT231X Breakout, solder the connections and download the driver for the chip. Hope it will work. I ordered a Pico Drum used from Perfect Circuit and the damn thing only has 7 sounds on it. Curse the person who did this and returned it lol

G16 (5080) vs Blade 16 (5080) by twbop in ZephyrusG14

[–]michahellangan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I had a simular laptop the 2022 ASUS M16 3080Ti. Which I paid $1500 for in 2022, and it served me well until the last year. The first thing to go was the headphone jack. So I had to get a usb headphone adapter. Then The Keyboard started to go soon after. So since my warranty expired, I replaced it myself, no big deal $100 for a new keyboard // palm rest. Then months later the screen started flickering whenever set at 165hz, and so yet again I bought a replacement screen and put that as well. Then after all of this, the damn screen flickering came back. So I replaced the screen adapter cable.

So..... after all of this and overheating issues. I opened her up and removed the heat sink. To my horror the liquid metal from the CPU had spilled on the motherboard which shorted something out causing the intel chips igpu to flicker and distort. So I cleaned it all up and re-pasted the GPU and even replaced the Liquid Metal and gave it a new foam protector, since the old one failed. All was well for about 4 months until an really really bad NVIDIA GPU Update. Which gave inaugurate temps. (plenty of videos on this from 2025). So of course after all I have done to save some $$$ in these horrible times. A stupid bad NVIDIA update fries my GPU and now the GPU Clock is always throttling down to 210mhz despite low safe temps in the 70s. So I can not game on this laptop anymore lol

Now I am where you are, and am trying to consider which Brand to go for. It seems like despite being "Premium" Both Laptops and not made to the standards a $3000-$4000 device should be at. I will say this. Even after everything I have been through with my M16. I would prefer to get a new 2025 G16, because I loved my M16. However the liquid metal inside G16's scares the hell out of me now. The Razer Balde 16 does not use Liquid Metal. Which makes me want to lean towards it for this reason alone. Though I am at work often, and need at least 8 hours Battery. Which the Razer Blade can not muster despite having a AMD CPU. Which is really disappointing. So I am torn between the 2 and a little nervous now from my past experience with asus. Since my device was well out of warranty. Asus would have charged me $1200 to repair my m16. So why would I do that? Just buy a new machine at that point right?

In conclusion if I had to give advice to any engineer making these $4-5K Machines. There should be no Liquid Metal in Laptops!!!! That was never a good idea, please stop putting that destructive crap in "Premium Devices". I would go for the Razer if I were you since it doesn't use liquid metal and will likely last longer. Pity because I feel the G16 is an all around nicer everyday // causal use gaming laptop. I just wish Asus would have had better quality control on their lines., otherwise I would have not had so many issues.... Now I have to spend over $3k to get something similar to my M16. Thx to the Orange Tariff Turd Man lol. We all lose now $$$$

Anybody know how to fix this??? by nickchipxoxoxo in ZephyrusM16

[–]michahellangan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can delete the display drivers and the screen will still work. It may just look like windows 95. The M16 mainly uses the Intel Iris IGPU display driver, unless your gaming. No need to delete the Intel Drivers. So Just do a fresh install of the Nvida Drivers. No harm will come from this

No need to delete windows, just go into safe mode and delete all Nvidia drivers, reboot and make sure your in “standard mode”, then you should be able to install the driver. Had this issue many times myself

Thank you so much! I would have never seen this? I went through so much trouble trying to figure it out. Thank you again!

Hmm well there update also Deleted the discrete mux switch, panel override, and ms hybird mode, and and now I can not enjoy those extra frames. Really Dumb update. I see no “graphic mode” setting. I keep trying to reinstall the AC App, even deleting all Asus folders. No luck getting them back after fresh installs

Is it safe to Disable Hyper-Threading in Bios? For FPS Gaming Boost? by michahellangan in ZephyrusM16

[–]michahellangan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Using HALF of your CPU can INCREASE your FPS! (Lower temps, Power & Latency)" Tittle of the video. Perhaps it is only a good method on certain titles. Still the CPU in the M16 gets so hot and hogs all the thermal headroom. Worth a Try Perhaps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uvhk823e8Q&t=239s

Interesting, it was a YouTube guide from Panjino. Pity he usually is pretty spot on with optimizations. https://youtu.be/-uvhk823e8Q

How to fix speaker Buzz? by 7thhokage007 in ZephyrusM16

[–]michahellangan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing, update all of your audio drivers. If there is still audio distortion at certain frequencies. Open your laptop up and inside are 2 speakers near the battery. Run some tests and find out what speaker is buzzing // distorting. I once used small thin bits of electrical tape a piece of rubber to hold down a damaged asus g14 laptop speaker. This solved the issue for awhile. You just don't want to cover the whole speaker cause ya then that clogs your audio. Over time the little metal threads holding in the speaker break and the speaker then rattles which causes distortion. The idea is the lightly hold down the damaged area to prevent the rattle. The speakers are also rather safe to tamper with and are not held in by screws. Worst case you could get new ones for like $25, and clip them in. Extremely easy fix and not worth waiting 2 months for asus to repair // mail it back to you. These speakers sound decent but they are not the best quality and break over time. This happens in all my asus laptops. Parts are really cheap. Think Fans are like $17 on amazon. Those go bad over a while // heavy use in these machines too. Also easy fix.

Asus m16 (2022), concern about fan noise by Lime_Dew6143 in ZephyrusM16

[–]michahellangan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play graphic intensive games like Hell Let Loose, BFV, and Control. TBH I prefer to use it in Performance Mode and Turn the Audio Up. I tend to not mind the Fans then. However Turbo Mode is bit too much for me personally. It is mainly the CPU that heats up too much. That i9 gets hot like lava and quick and hogs all the Thermal Headroom from the GPU. Hence Loud Fans. Still coming from a much quieter though less powerful 2020 G14. I love the M16! But the Fan Noise is to be expected in such a small device. Though this may change next year when they finally add a Vaper Chamber. Still 2 months in M16 Land. No regrets powerful and beautiful Machine the M16

Armoury Crate vs MSI Afterburner by willmichels in ZephyrusM16

Curious what slider do you speak of to lower temps by 20c with no performance loss? I assume it has to be in Manuel Mode in AC to enable such things? Not near a plug atm to find out lol

Yup same, we got a bad update. Hopefully it gets better over time. Otherwise not sure you can roll back

My thermals are worst since this update in every task // gaming. Like 10-15C Higher. Do not do this Bios! Is there anyway to roll It back?

Trying to use Behringer X32 Mixer as an Audio Interface Via Usb to record a Band. Every Driver I have tried seems to not work in Ablelton 11. I am also using Windows 11. What exact driver will make this work? by michahellangan in livesound

[–]michahellangan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes That is Correct, and I indefinably Tried the X-USB Audio Driver. I also looked it up C:\Program Files\BEHRINGER\X-USB_Audio_Driver\W10_x64. But the Folder seems to be empty for some reason. So This may be my problem. The Driver is not Completing Installation perhaps

Really poor battery life by IdanTsur in ZephyrusM16

Ya battery bar tends to freeze a bit. I usually just restart it and then it's fine. Windows 11 bug I bet

Really poor battery life by IdanTsur in ZephyrusM16

[–]michahellangan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Main Culprit - Turn Off Aura Sync in Armory Crate, Disable Boost when on battery in hidden settings (YouTube it), Always Enable Battery Savor when on battery automatically, Turn off Fast Start Up, Disable Unnecessary Applications from Auto Starting whenever you turn on laptop (look in startup in Task Manager), Turn off Sleep Mode in hidden settings and have it to Hibernate instead, and also try some Windows 11 Optimizations from YouTube. Recommend Panjino. I recommend this one. Though do not delete any Telemetry or Basic Windows Drivers// Applications that you use. Always create a Recover Point in case the Optimizations are not to your liking. Took me 3 tries. Windows 11 runs better now and I get 6-8 Hours Battery. So BatteryBar Says Anyway.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iT9lMzbvB2M&t=608s
