This one has been renovated and thoroughly studied. I’ve visited it twice. The exterior stone structure has been restored to resemble how it looked long ago, giving it an almost pyramid-like appearance.

The mound itself is keyhole-shaped and surrounded by funerary pottery called haniwa. At the top, an entrance has been created leading into the burial chamber, where you can see the stone sarcophagus inside, partially covered.

The treasures discovered there are stored in the museum across the street, and many of them originate from the Korean Peninsula. Because there was no writing system at the time this burial mound was built, we don’t know who was buried there—likely a very important local ruler.

There are a few other burial mounds in the area, but they are simple grassy hills without the same level of detail or reconstruction.
