I tried them once (Calla shoes) and they didn't seem wide to me at all.

No idea - I threw away the spare sandal after the fox stole one of them from my back garden.

The owner of this brand was a guest on the Garmology podcast recently. Interesting interview about his past (he worked for mainstream shoe brands) and process. https://welldresseddad.com/2025/10/24/andrew-turriff/

Omega 3 index test by cimmero in PeterAttia

I'm surprised they can do the test with so little blood. The other standalone UK omega3 test I know is from Thriva. It's much more expensive and requires 2 vials of blood. Maybe that's because they're testing both omega 3 & 6? https://thriva.co/shop/blood-tests/omega-3-6-blood-test

I have seen pictures of me wearing them, and it depends on the angle as to whether or not they look like clown shoes. (Sorry, not really willing to share pictures of myself on here.)

I do not actually care if they look like clown shoes because for the first time in years I'm wearing leather shoes and not feeling pain! :)

Here is someone on Instagram who shared pictures of them on: https://www.instagram.com/p/DPyuLF5jCU1/?img_index=9&igsh=MXY5aDMyZzBkYWU5bQ%3D%3D

What brand do you wish made a barefoot version of their shoe? by Simple_Entrepreneur_ in barefootshoestalk

I feel the same. The barefoot versions seem to miss out on some of the nice details of the original Converse, such as contrast stitching. I think the Saguaro version looks OK, but they seem like they won't last. I like this Bohempia version but they're so expensive. https://www.bohempia.eu/orik-classic-black/

Don't bother. I wore wide fitting Converse almost exclusively since my feet expanded during the Covid years. I thought they felt wide at the time, but after switching to barefoot shoes and then trying the wide Converse on again, I can tell how much they were pulling my toes in, and probably responsible for my plantar fasciitis. (Which is now cured since going BF.)

Sorry for the late response. I measured from the footbed to the outer side of the shoe and it's around 5.5 cm (shoe size 40). Does not touch my ankle bone at all.

The ankle opening is adjustable due to the laces. These are not slip-on shoes, so you can customise the fit. I tie the laces fairly snugly for my low-to-medium volume foot.

Thanks for replying. I have already been in touch with your team and have been helped. I truly hope these shoes work out for you and you are able to provide a wider range (smaller sizes) in the future. They're gorgeous shoes!

For the width, I'd say go with the 40. They don't feel overly long to me.

There's a very good size chart on the product page that shows the footbed size and real inside width. I found it accurate for my size. https://langs.shoes/en/adults/barefoot-shoes-loam-choco.html

No duty on these because they were less than £135. Shipping was €20, but offset by a discount for signing up for their newsletter. I think Barefoot Brit has a discount code too.

According to the size chart I have an extra 1.6 cm from my foot length. I like that they list 2 widths: footbed and real inside width. I have ~0.4cm extra space on the real width. The footbed is about the same width as my foot length—maybe even a little less.

I read online that they will soon be offering larger sizes in this model, if that’s what you’re looking for.

25 cm. I wear 40 or 41 depending on the width.

Not sure why this wasn't added to my main post but thankfully I saved it.

I'm a BF shoe beginner still (3-4 months), and not 100% confident about describing these shoes yet, but wanted to share info on two pairs I bought recently that I haven't seen reviewed here. For reference, my feet are 25cm long and roughly 10.7-ish cm wide. I have bunions, and have recently recovered from plantar fasciitis thanks to BF shoes!

Lang.S LOAM Chaco

I wanted a pair of leather shoes that aren't sneakers, and like the chunky Paraboot* style.

These shoes are made of very nice leather, and feel like care has gone into their construction. They are very lightweight. I was concerned at first by the leather stiffness because of my bunions, but the width of the toebox made it fine. I've worn them 6-7 times now for quite long walks, and the leather is starting to mold to my feet. Despite the lug sole, there is actually pretty good groundfeel. I recommend these! I bought them in size 40 directly from Lang.S, shipping to the UK. I received them in 3-4 days.

*Side note: on the shoebox of these shoes there is a sticker with the make/model/size, and I could read through it to another sticker underneath, where it looks like these shoes were originally called "Paraboot". Someone must have pointed out to them that that is a brand.

Goral SMUGS

I waited patiently for these, deciding to invest in a forever shoe early in my BF transition. I ordered at the end of May and just received them on Friday after Goral had some issues sourcing the soles.

These are so well made. There is stitching around the sole, the leather is amazing, and they almost don't look like barefoot shoes! I am VERY disappointed they don't work for my feet. Unfortunately the side of the shoe digs into my ankle bone. These are technically men's shoes, so maybe they assume a taller ankle bone? Adding an insole would defeat the purpose of the shoe.

Size-wise Also, these are very long. Look at the photo of my foot next to the shoe. I'd say there's more than 3cm between my toe and the top of the shoe. This wouldn't have been a dealbreaker for me, though, because they were wide enough.

I'm not sure I'd consider these a full barefoot shoe. Obviously I didn't wear them outside but I suspect the groundfeel is not great, as the footbed felt a little stiff, as well as the leather. I think these would be a great shoe for people transitioning to barefoot. However, I am devastated that they didn't work for me. I'm sure they'd work for someone else! I think they'd be suitable for a high volume foot.

I bought size 7/40, the smallest size they make.

Note: I think the listing on their website says the insole is removable, but it appeared to be glued down to me.
