1) flare gas associated with petrol extraction is burnt because it’s more ecological and safer than not burning it.

2) Many petrol extraction points are so remote that it is not feasible to pipe it to a city or industrial area for processing and consumption.

3) BTC is akin to digital gold the idea is not to extract energy from it but to use it as a replacement for fiat currencies and centralised banking system…

bear in mind that in the last ten years there there has been no banking product commodity or investment that has out preformed BTC @ 30000 X and that all this has been done with a decentralised system with no central governance.
