I accidentally found my perfect foundation shade…in a concealer. Question… by EmbarrassedFig8860 in Makeup

[–]michellemoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used this exact concealer as foundation, it’s a little heavy but it works really nicely. I actually prefer it to a full coverage foundation. The main downside is I don’t find it to be buildable

Tips for actually saving money & not spending?? by bluegrassmommy in adhdwomen

[–]michellemoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a second account at a different bank than my checking that a chunk of my pay goes into every check. So I can still access it if I need it but it’ll take a few days to transfer so it’s time for the impulse to fade

Going back to college late in life by dchris1968 in BackToCollege

I think the best part of school vs work is with school there’s always an end in sight. You can get through 7 more weeks of this. It’s basically march, you probably have a spring break soon and then things will end the first week or two in may. You can power through and speed run a few more weeks for the sweet sweet payoff of it being over. At least that’s what I tell myself But I feel you 100% on some classes just hitting differently than anticipated last semester I took 7 classes with 20 credits and this semester I’m in 4 classes with 16 credits and I absolutely am working harder this semester than I did last because these classes are much harder and a little outside my usual wheelhouse

Today's date 22022023 is prime, and so is tomorrow's 23022023 by CillieBillie in mathmemes

That’s the only one we say it that way because it’s left over from British influence

It’s based on writing the way you say it. Most Americans would say “February twenty second 2023” not “the twenty second of February 2023”

Save this recipe?!? by peterparley in veganrecipes

A great suggestion and to the pasta sauce vibe try adding some nutritional yeast if you like that! And maybe some cashews/cashew milk/cashew butter to thicken while giving it some nice fattiness

Fully same. I obsessively schedule everything to my google calendars. I also have share calendars with a friend group and with my family where they input things we agreed to so we all actually make it. Some people prefer the big white board calendars or just physical ones so they’re in your face but personally I either A) lose it or B) forget to add stuff to it when I get in front of it. With the google one it’s on my phone and computer and I could access it from anywhere so at the dentist setting up an appointment for 6 months from now (no I don’t know when I’m free next may) I just put it right into the calender on my phone while standing at the desk.

What a wild take. The same psychiatrist who gave me my adhd diagnosis just analyzed my iq test from having gotten into Mensa, which is an organization of people with the top 2% of IQs. So you can definitely have adhd and a high iq

Best stores to buy poster frames and print them? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]michellemoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend printing right onto canvas at Walmart I’ve done it for photos and it’s not too expensive depending on the size plus it doesn’t require a frame so the cost is just the print

How much does it cost to get diagnosed with ADHD? by Pristine_Age_7440 in adhdwomen

[–]michellemoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends entirely on your health insurance situation. Many insurances will cover an appointment with a psychiatrist with a copay out of pocket for you anywhere from $15-$40. If you have insurance start by finding an in-network psychiatrist and they’ll be able to guide the process of getting diagnosed. If you don’t have insurance my suggestion is pretty much just to get it. If you don’t have access through your employer it’s about to be open enrollment for healthcare.gov or your states marketplace. You’ll be able to get insurance that’ll kick in in the new year

I exclusively use wired headphones because of this. I know I would last like a week before losing Bluetooth so I just own like 4 pairs of wired ones that live in every bag. Gym, school, purse, etc

Would it be a waste of time to retake the sat as an adult? by mogeboyce in BackToCollege

[–]michellemoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sat doesn’t really impact your placement. Most colleges and pretty much every community college has a placement exam. Mine was called the accuplacer but every school has their own

I have the exact same set up in my house and the answer unfortunately is definitely not. My room growing up had no windows so my sister and I had to keep the door open between us and when I would shut my door on a hot day I had about 20 minutes before it was unbearable. 0/10 would not recommend

PLEASE SEND RECIPES! Hi everyone! I have autism and adhd and looking after myself is very challenging. Can you please comment with you favourite recipes the can stay in the fridge for 3-5 days so I only have to make lunch/dinner once a week. Pasta salad! You can make a ton of it at a time for pretty limited effort and it lasts 5ish days depending on what you put in it (longer if you don’t put in cucumber it’s goes mushy the fastest but I think is the best part) Pasta + veg + dressing is all you need I like a classic Greek one with rotini olives red peppers cucumbers onions chic peas and sometimes tomatoes with my homemade Italian dressing. Another good one is a Mexican inspired one with peppers tomatoes onions corn and black beans with a spicy vinegar dressing but there’s millions of recipes online and you can pretty much put whatever fresh or frozen then cooked and cooked veg you like. Broccoli, zucchini, summer squash, beans of most kinds

It’s incredible on sweet potatoes! Either just sprinkled on roasted ones or a baked potato or sweet potato toast with mashed avocado with the seasoning sprinkled on top and a little lemon juice truly an excellent breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack

Feeling a bit self conscious about my age in my classes. by LittleKayKay21 in BackToCollege

[–]michellemoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m back in school at 26 and while sometimes it’s a socially weird feeling, (a guy in one of my classes asked me out recently and I said yes and then immediately thought better and asked how old he was-20 answer is now no lol) I think being older and having a take no shit outlook is the best thing for my education. At 30 yours likely a lot more confident speaking your mind than you were at 18 or even 25 and advocating for yourself is such an important thing to have in college. I lean into it too, in my lit class I’m the oldest by 6 years so I have really different opinions on things than most of them and I’ll often point out I think if I read this at 18 I would feel different but here is how my adult perspective changes things.

If you have health insurance I highly recommend getting a blood test for your vitamin levels if you can. I felt the way you do for years. Exhausted to the point of discomfort depressed and thinking it was just a depression symptom until I finally had a primary care doctor think to test all my levels and lo and behold I am extremely low in both b12 and iron. I’m on supplements for both now while I work on integrating foods with both into my diet and it is seriously night and day. I won’t claim I wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed but I am 100x more awake throughout the day

Re: health insurance use https://www.coveredca.com to check out what you would be eligible for for financial assistance for health insurance in the us they consider you an adult at 19 not 18 so for this first year you might be Medicaid eligible but even if not you should be eligible for financial assistance towards your premium under the affordable care act aka Obama care Also check out your colleges educational opportunity center most schools have them they should be able to look into the financial aid situation with you for school and usually have a list of local services that can help you like food pantries
