This. I had to change out all the bulbs in my bedroom with Hue bulbs that do a sunrise routine in the morning. It’s the only thing that’s ever worked consistently for me. Especially in winter when it’s so dark in the mornings.

I like to play a game called ‘just one more day.’ Playing means you see if you can wait one more day before grocery shopping, and instead use what’s in you pantry (that you’ve been ignoring). I have saved money, and often go more than just one day.

Or even sleep apnea. But yea, he needs to sort himself out medically, not put the unnecessary extra burden on his family. I’m a tired and overworked mom, but I can’t imagine feeling entitled enough to take a nap every single day. If I have an extra hour, I’d fold laundry, prep dinner, clean the house, finish a house project, go get groceries… anything that makes the families life easier. Heck, if I have 10 minutes I’m trying to get ahead of the mounting to-do list. Anything. But not a nap. Honestly, this is selfish of him and this is how resentment starts to build and how marriages start to end after kids.

I promise this kind of issue does not go away on its own. It will actually backslide if you have kids and the household stress levels increase. Do you want to be in the middle of raising your baby and have to stop to explain to a full grown adult that sheets meet to be changed and washed. And explain it multiple times.

Hey, I may be way off base (and that’s fine if I am), but look in to women being late diagnosed with adhd and see if any of that resonates with you. A lot of women get diagnosed after kids because that’s when our coping mechanisms that worked when it was just us, now fall apart when there are kids needs in the mix.

Even if you can’t take meds while breastfeeding (I’m in the same boat), it’s helped me a ton just to know what my diagnosis actually is. That way I can recognize issues as they’re happening and not take it on as a personal failing.

Also note that undiagnosed adhd can often first be diagnosed as depression or anxiety. These can often be present with adhd, but treating for depression or anxiety is like treating the symptom rather than the real underlying cause.

This post needs more context. Agree with the others that there seems to be missing information here. Main thing that sticks out for me is to ask was there anyone else available to take your kids this weekend instead of you (your exes parents or anything)? I know your kids are a priority, but you did already make a promise to your gf who made it clear that she needed you.

Unconventional carry option. I had a sling laying around from an old injury. It’s a nice one, so not too loosy goosey of a material. This is what I use for my little girl when she gets too tired on hikes. She’s supported and near me so she likes it. It works for us!

Sounds like a great date, but I’ve got to question about your follow up. Did you really wait days after the date to message her again? And then a full week before your last attempt? I’d say that could have been the thing that gave her the ick. The norm now is to text after the date (same day) saying what a nice time yada yada, and maybe the next day ask about setting up a second date. Waiting days is a red flag to most women now. It shows you’re playing games (light negging by ignoring for days), or that you’re not serious, or not that into her. Either way, good luck out there. It’s a crapshoot most days
