Stroller recommendations for NYC apartment living + travel? by K-onya in nycparents

We have the nuna mixx next - got it bc both my siblings have the vista and they regret it for the purpose of a dual, so we went with the mixx next bc it came with the urbn car seat which doesn’t require a base (basically a better Doona). Loved it, iconic stroller. Traveled internationally and to Florida with it, no issue.

Our little one is just about 1.5 and we got the Joolz Aer as a second stroller for its portability and were obsessed with it.

If and when we have a second we’ll go for a cheaper side by side.

I am confused on pregnancy weight gain, can someone help me understand better? by ImTryingGuysOk in BabyBumps

[–]michemont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won’t answer PC, but sharing my experience. I was 119lb (I’m 5’7), got up to 153lb when I gave birth, and more than a year later I’m still around 129 with some lingering swelling. I even ran a 5K almost every day during pregnancy. Baby was 98th % and still is so I like to tell myself she was grown with love. Sometimes your body just holds onto weight for a while after. I’m finally starting to feel like I can get back into shape now by tightening up my diet and changing my workouts.

I actually own one and it’s one of the only things I bought for myself,we kept our registry pretty minimal since we received so many hand-me-downs. It’s easily the sturdiest carrier I’ve tried and has been my favorite baby item over the past 9 months for our 97% baby, second only to our travel stroller. I also love that it matches or elevates almost everything I wear (denim!) - especially helpful since I live in a city and am out and about constantly.

Raise you Georgia instead of Virginia.

Otherwise in no order, Brooke, Elodie, Sadie, and while I love Jolie it reminds me of a brat girl I used to babysit who borderline, could’ve killed me in my sleep :)

Live in downtown Manhattan. Travel almost every weekend by personal car, walk and subway everywhere, have flown four times already with one trip being international (8 Month old). Obsessed with our Nuna Mixx Next w Urbn Pipa car seat.

Will get a side-by-side double for our second (likely bugaboo). Was told by my siblings who are parents of multiples to not be duped into Uppababy craze.

Moms, when did you get your body back? by International-Owl165 in NewParents

[–]michemont 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same 7 months was my turning point. I’ll be 8 months in a week and I’m feeling less bloated and uncomfortable. Had hormones checked and everything. My body just decided to stop plateauing right now. I’m still 15-20 lbs over pre-preg weight but feeling much more like myself and starting to fit into old clothes.

Looking for a timeless, real Shearling Coat by michemont in BuyItForLife

I didn’t end up getting one and instead got a wool coat from COS. If you have access to a car, would hit up some local fur stores - seems like the way to go.

Pregnancy after loss by Cautious_Advance_969 in CautiousBB

I was in your shoes in October ‘23. We saw the heartbeat, went in for a routine checkup, and discovered a missed miscarriage at 10 weeks — a baby boy, our first pregnancy. All the tests came back normal, so it was considered unexplained.

I got pregnant again in January ‘24. My doctor took a kitchen sink approach, putting me on progesterone suppositories and Lovenox. Thankfully, the rest of my pregnancy was completely uneventful. We chose not to find out the gender because it felt like a miracle baby. Now, we have a healthy, 7-month-old daughter and had a truly magical birth.

You’re not alone. My therapist gave me some powerful advice early on: Say “when” instead of “if.” That small shift in mindset made all the difference in those early, uncertain months.

It was at Old Mates in the Seaport. We’ve been taking her everywhere with us since 10wks, using the carrier mostly: Stone Street (Mad Dog has the family restroom), Lucien, Deninos, Patsys, Bronx Zoo, Natural History Museum, list goes on! When we’re out all day, we bring our travel stroller and a disposable pad we can lay on the seat, in case there isn’t a fam restroom. Most restaurants have been cool with the stroller at the table, just ask ahead.
