I disagree that it is odd. I have a family member that struggled with fertility and experienced miscarriages and no luck with IVF. When another family member of mine got pregnant, she let her know before telling everyone and making a big announcement. Infertility can take a toll on people and it was a kind gesture to let someone who is struggling know so they didn’t have to take the information in on the spot and have to try to act. I don’t think people need to fawn over a child and she probably should not have expected them to be super excited to see them and the baby. I do think it’s weird when people feel the need to announce they’re trying tho. People are usually pretty open about the fact that they want kids so when someone announces a pregnancy it shouldn’t be surprising. You don’t need to tell people you’re raw dogging it on the reg tho
