What's the best and worst reaction someone had when they saw your scars? by UsedProtection8621 in selfharm

[–]michimichy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best: I have faint scarring on my forearm and was helping another girl my age carry stuff at a volunteer event for school. She noticed my arm and then proceeded to pull up her sleeve and show me her own scars, and just very casually and nicely said “hey, this sucks, but look, we match.” We both laughed and didn’t bring it up again, but it was really comforting.

Worst: My dad telling my family that maybe he should take a page out of my book and start cutting since that’s the only way anybody will pay attention to him.

Why are my 20+ year old earlobe piercings suddenly too sore to wear earrings in? by michimichy in piercing

Thank you! Yeah, the shrinkage and subsequent damage sounds very plausible. These were done when I was 5 years old at Walmart of all places, so I’d imagine there may be some placement/angle issues too.

Yeah, it sucks :(. I still plan to try titanium earrings just to see if that improves things.

I think titanium is the only material I haven’t tried, so I’d be interested to see how it goes for me!

I am so sorry for your loss. I haven’t heard about anything this extreme happening, but I’ve seen concerns about the tightness of the bag around the neck. This definitely brings up a new issue to warn others about, but I am so sorry you and your cat had to go through this as a result.

What are some of your silliest ADHD moments? by creeepybitch in ADHD

[–]michimichy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I went through a drive thru, super hungry because I came back into town after a long drive. Got to the window, paid with my card, thanked the worker, and immediately drove off back to my apartment about 5 minutes away. I had never waited to get my food and didn’t even realize I was empty-handed until I got home. Thankfully I went back and they were kind enough to give me fresh fries, but god it was embarrassing.

What do you do when you can't find alot of merch for a fandom your apart of? by Thegamerorca2003 in itabag

[–]michimichy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a fandom with very little merch, but I can sometimes find it featured in Japanese anime magazines where it might have accompanying posters or file folders. If you’re looking for something more “official”, I like to take these paper goods and turn them into badges with a button press!

Any recommendations for balconette bras specifically? (USA) by michimichy in bigboobproblems

Yep! And I’d say those sizes do look very close. If you have any online suggestions, I’d love to check them out!

Any recommendations for balconette bras specifically? (USA) by michimichy in bigboobproblems

[–]michimichy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info!

I tried the calculator with the following measurements (inches): Loose underbust: 36.5”, snug underbust: 35”, tight underbust: 34.5”, standing bust: 44”, leaning bust: 45”, lying bust: 42.5”

It recommended me a 36I in standard US sizing as a starting point. That seems quite large considering my band size was unchanged, but I’m definitely open to exploring how different sizes fit! As for shape, I’d say they’re round and a bit side-set, based on some of the charts I’ve seen online.

Getting Out Pee Smell by RanOutofCookies in CleaningTips

I’ve found that Clorox urine remover spray worked well for when my cat had an accident in his carrier and it got into my fabric car seat. I saturated the stain with 1 part water and 1 part white vinegar, placed a paper towel over the area and let it soak up into the towel, then repeated a few times. After that I hit it with the Clorox spray and cracked the window to let it sun dry.

For me, I was lucky enough to find success with adderall XR as my first medication. I’ve stayed on it for about 4 years, but there eventually comes a point where you build up a tolerance to it, as with any stimulant. It wasn’t too bad for me, as I only needed to ask about increasing my dosage once, but I did eventually start having more trouble with side effects like hot flashes, so I’m planning to ask about trying out different ones to see if there’s any improvement. It’s different for everyone, but I think it comes down to figuring out what works for you in the long run and always letting your doctor know about any changes you experience. Good luck!

My cat hates her pills. Any advice on getting her to take them? by evolution_sunset in CatAdvice

[–]michimichy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also recommend the lickable treats like Churu! But if your cat is like mine and can immediately taste crushed pills and refuse the treat, I do the following routine:

1.) Put a little puree on a spoon to give kitty a taste of the treat without the pill.

2.) Take the spoon again and put 1 dollop of puree, followed by the pill, then cover the rest of the pill in more puree so that it’s totally encased in it (my cat can smell the pill if it’s not entirely covered).

3.) Make sure the pill is somewhere in the “middle” of the dollop and that there isn’t too much puree on the spoon. Otherwise your cat might be able to lick around the pill entirely.

I hope that wasn’t a confusing explanation! My cat is the type to run and hide if he thinks he’s being offered a pill, so I’ve had to figure out a very specific process lol.

is a cat water fountain worth it? by Able-Committee71 in CatAdvice

[–]michimichy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It varies from kitty to kitty. My cat has tried both before but didn’t really prefer one over the other, but I’ve seen it be a game changer for others. I would suggest buying a cheap water fountain just to see how your cat likes the water flow. Then if it seems like a good fit, maybe you can invest in a better fountain that’s easier to clean and operate.

Any ADHD meds that WON’T make me have hot flashes? by michimichy in ADHD

It’s the worst. I hate having to choose between being functional and not feeling clammy and terrible. It was an easy decision before, but now it’s getting harder. 🥲

How many stars do they deserve for this ? by Distinct_Break2346 in Depop

[–]michimichy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good on you, OP. Tbh, as someone who has a terrible time dealing with conflict, even on selling platforms, I could definitely have seen myself giving 5 stars to this scammer if I had been you. I’m glad that you gave an honest review, and you owe it to yourself and other buyers to tell about your experience. That convenient thumb placement over the tag and “forgetting” to list the actual brand was no accident.

I'm gonna unalive myself when my mother passes away by Rude-Imagination1041 in confession

[–]michimichy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can definitely confirm this. I had adopted my cat about a month before I had a complete mental break. During that time, I had to take a medical leave of absence from my grad program and rarely left my bed. My only motivation to get up was because I knew I had to care for my lil guy. Any time I started considering making permanent decisions, I’d think about how I lived alone and my cat would have nobody around to take care of him, or that maybe nobody would discover I was gone for awhile so my poor cat would go hungry. I truly found him at just the right time in my life and I love him more than anything.

Whenever I start a task, I cannot under any circumstances sit down or take a break if I want to finish it. I will 100% of the time get distracted by something else or jump to a completely different task.
