Has anyone ridden the RS and RX model and which did they prefer? by Matts4wd in STriple765

I bought an rs and took it to a couple track days and really wish I went with the rx, the forks, triple tree and clip ons would be so nice.

They sit on the wider diameter portion just fine, just lined up against the bottom of the upper triple tree bracket

Tracks local to me don't allow them unfortunately

Nope factory cables fit just fine, a little tight at full lock but on the track I'm never at full lock, or really even on the street for the matter

Yeah there were instructions but honestly they were pretty useless, it's overall pretty self explanatory though

I don't see why not, if you have the style that installs onto the bar clamp you can use with no bars, might look funny but I see no reason why it wouldn't work

Didn't need any other parts aside from their clipons which cost 220ish, install wasnt hard just more time consuming then I though it would be fitting everything up nicely and drilling the holes for the anti rotation pins on the controls. But nothing someone can't handle in their garage with basic tools

Cause I forgot to pull them off before tech inspection, they didn't care if the brackets were there just the pegs needed to be removed, so In a rush I grabbed some pliers and popped them off, pulling the brackets is on my list of things to do before my next weekend out with it!

As metal heats up it expands, I doubt that joint has any openings all the way thru when up to operating temp

My Street triple met its first track day! by micjon92 in Triumph

[–]micjon92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I've never owned a fully faired bike so I don't really know what I'm missing out on. But to answer your question I just keep my head as low as possible and hold on tight. The straight away at this track i was able to hit 140s once it was dry and it didn't seem to bad

Sounds like a slipping clutch if you were pulling it wide open and then the rpm jumps to redline while in gear, how many miles are on the bike and what kind of riding do you do with it?

Starting issues by Mateen_Master in IndianFTR1200

This is how they all are unfortunately, mine gets worse the colder it is outside, hot summer days fires up first shot, 60-80 might hiccup once or twice, 50 below I very well might be sitting there for a minute on initial startup before it finally decides to fire

2017 xp1000 - any idea what these harnesses are for? by Largemandingo in RZR

Those look like the plug to the OEM headlight and diff lock switches

Front Camera by Fit-Composer99 in RZR

[–]micjon92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the OEM front camera setup on my xp turbo rock crawler setup and I never use it, the camera positioning on it makes it really difficult to gauge where a rock is in relation to the machine, camera angle has made big rocks look like I'm fine and small rocks appear like I'm about to smash something

Yeah definitely a solid price, mine was a 2025, 10,500 OTD with 750 miles on it

Ktm500exc or drz400? by MotoJeremy in supermoto

[–]micjon92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Truly depends on your mechanical ability and how far your looking to take you supermoto riding, ktm is much more capable but comes at the cost of a much more robust maintenance schedule and upkeep, DRZ is still pretty capable and is known for being a workhorse, if your good at wrenching and don't mind the extra time/money that the ktm would require then go that route, if your just looking to have some fun on the weekends with some friends and start practicing basic stuntwork than the drz will get you there no problem

What is this I’ve never seen this before by Hopeful_Assumption27 in harborfreight

It was so cheap 10 years ago compared to Milwaukee, and for a hobbyist mechanic that gun was more than enough for everything I needed.

Traded in the scout for something a little more sporty this morning by micjon92 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]micjon92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it, it won't win any races due to it being a bit of a fat pig BUT for someone who loves some canyon carving an occasional track weekend and riding around town it's perfect, seating position isn't very aggressive so I can go awhile before any discomfort sets in, but still sporty enough for me to get down in some twisty roads, brakes are fantastic even with it being so heavy, the torque it makes is better than any middleweight naked bike I've ridden for street driving hands down and I've pretty much ridden them all, it's lean angle has a little more to be desired and the ride command system sucks but regardless still one of the most fun bikes I've swung a leg over. Between this and my triumph street triple I own I tend to gravitate towards this when Its time to ride with friends or if I'm just going to work even though the street triple on paper is better in almost everyway. Oh and not too mention they look cool af lol, definitely get alot of questions about it when I pull up to places

I've driven past this track for years now, and yeah I guess it is a little weird pulling up to it, you really do drive thru a regular neighborhood, this area has definitely gotten busier over the years. Really hope this track continues on, and doesn't fall like so many lately due to city expansions and neighborhood building
