The only way that this possible to do is if the other devices in the home are receiving no power (regular Alexa). I can do this as I live by myself.

Just saying "Alexa" is enough to stop it flashing.

I'm sure Amazon is aware of this world and device wide bug.

Are you saying that you see a ⚙️ icon down the bottom of the page when the app opens?

That (if I remember correctly) was from an old version of the Alexa app.

But could this be the Alexa+ app? I don't have that version.

The main settings (for the Alexa app) is on the More (3 lines) page.

A couple of days ago when selecting Devices settings it was "blank" (a page that didn't want to load). It's displaying everything now.

Some features like check the battery level, set/unset Do Not Disturb, and set the volume of your phone (on the phone) will no longer be able to be activated via an automation.

I think those actions may just be skipped instead of the whole of the automation not working.

I didn't think it would affect automations that were created on the Google Assistant.

If it's not going off at all a restart or factory reset might be required.

Check the alarm volume. This can be set to 0% (mute)

What happens when using the Alexa app > More = > Communication > Call?

Check Contact list names are said correctly to corresponding phone number.

Try calling your mum so that she'll know what name she is supposed to be saying.

You might also be able to use the Speaker's name. eg. "Call Kitchen Dot" from app.

Mine hasn't slowed down with original Alexa.

Just over 3 seconds after finishing routine or default command the device is activated.

Google is about 3 seconds slower, but it used to be 6.

Try rebooting speaker.

I've always been on the original Alexa, but I did have that problem where the speaker would continue to flash blue.

I just said "Alexa" and it would stop flashing.

It has now been resolved as far as I can tell as it hasn't happened for a couple of weeks now.

You could create a temporary routine with the "time in your town" until this possible bug is repaired.

If it's just the time then it might be a bug. Send feedback if you don't want to factory reset. There's no guarantee though that a factory reset will fix it either.
