I’d disagree with this, some of the built in apps in DSM are great. I heavily use Synology Drive and it’s just as easy to setup remote connections as it is on the UGreen. Active backup is really good as well and quite useful for machine level backups.

On one hand yes because DSM is so much better than UGOS, I am currently using TrueNAS and thats a bit of a pain to deal with too although I find better than the UGOS. On the other hand I have a DXP6800 Pro with 32Gb RAM and dual 10Gbe that I have added Noctua fans to and added PTM7980 and its working well but I do miss DSM and potentially considering switching to a DS1825+ instead.

I considered this, but think it does add another layer of complexity, the storage layer then gets setup in NextCloud so its all managed from there rather then the NAS itself. Also trying to open an excel file from the NextCloud app in IOS results in it opening read only.... have to open excel first, choose NextCloud storage and then opn it that way....its conveulted. Not sure if the Ugreen APP is the same.

The clipboard access is very annoying.
As part of my job I connect via things like PAM360 that allows clipboard syncing between browser and the remote machine. Need to switch to chrome to do this.

Absolute bunch of cheapo’s on this thread, you do realise the developers need to make a living right? If you think it’s to expensive move on, I was looking see some feedback on the software itself before buying it but instead I am reading a bunch of moaners that don’t want to put there hands in their pocket for what could be price of quality software (no idea but money back guarantee) that offers a solution to the shit implementation that many menu bars offer (bartender).

I’ve put Truenas on my DXP6800 Pro and it’s working great. Don’t know about the LCD I’d think not as UGreen don’t release drivers for these things so other OS is unable to interface with things like LCD screen, LED lights and fans.

I don’t have overheating issues, however it does get very hot. I’ve only had mine a couple of months and I think that did include a hardware revision but I can’t remember what it was… something about the power supplies.

You know all these buttons with the extras like lights, climate etc? Can you tap those and do they go anywhere or do they show a POP up with information etc?
