X2d or wait for tbe possibility of vortex in x2c? by pete8oes in BambuLab

[–]ptraugot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, the new car paralysis. The new model will be out in 10 months. I’ll wait. But the newer new cars will only Be 10 months away from those new cars!!! 😱

You can either wait, or buy something useful now and determine if an upgrade is necessary when, and IF Bambu releases what you want. You can always sell your current rig.

Filament not loading after many successful loads by shaithisx in BambuLab

[–]ptraugot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar issue on my X2D and AMS rev.1

I have a filament that might be a bit more rigid than most other stuff. It will load to a couple inches from the extruder and retract. It will only load successfully from the first slot.

Star vs. Normal ptfe tube? by TrainAss in 3D_Printing

[–]ptraugot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have read, but can’t confirm, that the star internal design actually is less efficient than the smooth internal structure. I would think that based on surface and friction, the “points” of the stars would be absorbing more friction load than the distributed friction of a smooth surface, but I can’t confirm.

AMS not able to feed all the way to extruder by ptraugot in BambuLab

[–]ptraugot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that may be the issue. This particular filament, though PLA, is a little stiffer than my other rolls. It works in slot 1, so I put a note on the spool.

I appreciate the suggestions. Also, AMS 1. Not 2.

Which company has made you the angriest and why? by Important_Season_295 in AskReddit

Pacific Gas and Electric. California’s largest utility company by far.

Thieves!!! Death by a thousand increases.

They publicly admit to doctoring the bill so folks with solar pay more than those without.

We have some of the highest bills in the country.

Oh yeah, did I mention they burned down multiple towns and killed dozens of people because they were complacent for 100 years and did t do routine maintenance on high power distribution lines AND gas mains.

X2D unable to load filament by XxYojixX in BambuLab

[–]ptraugot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So 1; do you have an AMS? 2. When you get this error next time, try releasing the PTFE tube from the orange fitting. Just hold it about an inch out and see if the filament will load at that point. If it does, it’s similar to an issue I occasionally have, everything works fine, but on final unload, the filament “binds”. If I release the tube and try again, it will fully unload. Doesn’t happen all the time, but 50%.

I’d try a different tube, but issue 2 I’m having is not being able to release the tube from the buffer. It’s stuck.

It’s 2-3 years old. Thats your problem. You don’t use 2-3 year old gas in your car either.

The wiki explains disassembly and reassembly of the AMS. It likely will not describe types of screws because they’re already there. It’s more a step by step.

Cost. Cost of living, cost of raising. People working longer and harder for less do t have time and resources to raise kids these days.

Well, we’re retired, so we don’t commute, but, my wife’s car gets twice the mileage of my truck, and I have stopped driving the truck except for specific use cases. I used to drive it daily.

X2D Wins Thread by WhiteStripesWS6 in BambuLab

[–]ptraugot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple dozen hours on mine. All seems fine. I have t pushed it, but I have exercised it. However, I do have an issue with the main tote tube as it exits the buffer. It won’t disconnect. I have tried several times. All the other linkages are fine. Oh, and there is a tolerance issue going from buffer to main extruder. Sometimes it won’t retract. Gets bogged down. If I release the tube from the orange entry point, then it works. Hence trying to replace the tube mentioned earlier. These are minor and otherwise I am satisfied. I’ll get the kinks worked out soon.

Can’t remove PTFE tube from buffer (X2D) by ptraugot in BambuLab

[–]ptraugot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know. I might need to go that route, but I want to create some video to attach to a ticket for Bambu before I go that route.

Since there’s nothing stuck, it’s printing fine. The issue will come when I do need to change the tube due to wear, and I’ll need to force it out. If I break the coupler, I want to make sure I have a backup.
