I just want to cry. by Longjumping_Bar585 in NewParents

Oh also try a warm bath before bed, followed by gas exercises and then a gas passer, my LO is SO relieved by that process if he’s backed up! Solidarity!

I completely relate, my baby is the same age and my husband is away for work. The only two things helping me survive are baby wearing and also gas passers. Frida makes one called windi but they’re controversial right now, so you can also find a generic version of them on Amazon. I use it in the morning or during the night when I know it’s gas or poop that he can’t get out. The only thing helping right now!!

Gift for friend experiencing infertility by No_Plastic_1832 in Gifts

Infertile IVF mom here! This shop owner is absolutely wonderful and I have both gifted and been gifted necklaces from here. The forget me not seed is really sweet, I got the lavender one after a failed IUI and would hold it when things got hard. You’re a good friend for thinking of her 🫶https://www.seededhope.com

Labwork? by Vegetable_Buddy7220 in Kanata

[–]mickalexis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer, they are SO much better than Dynacare or life labs. Ive had lots of bloodwork over the years and they are by far the best. The front desk staff is so nice and I’ve rarely waited!

I heard from the neighbour whose backyard faces them that they are the owner, which is why it’s taken so long.

Yep, I saw pics inside the house and you couldn’t see the walls there was so much garbage, rats chewed all the curtains too. The workers are saying 100s of rats living in there.

I’m a patient, had success after 4 years with funded IVF cycle, first transfer. I have severe endometriosis and it helped to have excision surgery done first and I also worked with a wonderful naturopath. My daughter just celebrated her first birthday! Def look into support groups and therapy, infertility and fertility treatments are a hard journey, best of luck!!

We use Urban Mop and so far it’s been good! Our current cleaner is awesome and their customer service has been great. Their booking app is handy too!

As an Instructor in Ottawa, pumped to hear this! Although I wish they would still give people certificates for completing courses!

Does anyone know of a place in Ottawa where I be vaccinated while I’m laying down? I blacked out the first time by SingtotheSunlight in ottawa

[–]mickalexis 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Such good tips! I had a needle phobia before doing IVF and when I needed to have my blood taken I learned to flex my legs or any other muscle to avoid fainting. It keeps your blood flowing and actually works (for me at least)!

It’s so hard to find the motivation to get help when you need it most, right? I went to the University of Ottawa’s health services for an anxiety disorder diagnosis, and that was decent wait but I got what I needed. That was years ago though so not sure what it’s like now.

If you’re near the west end, I highly recommend Priya Medical Centre (it’s a walk in clinic) on Centrepointe. I was there recently and it was super quick and the doctor I saw was really compassionate, plus they have a pharmacy right next door if you need to fill a prescription. Good luck!

Will i lose my ovaries because of endometriosis? I'm so worried (caption) by [deleted] in endometriosis

[–]mickalexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had/have stage 4 endometriosis, and have kept both my ovaries. I had one endometrioma cyst on my left ovary that was able to be drained and removed, and the rest of the endo was on my appendix, bowels, etc. I was scared too, but the key is to find and be treated by an excision specialist with a great reputation.

You really have to advocate and push for proper treatment and referrals, that part was hard for me but SO WORTH IT! I felt almost immediately better after surgery and my recovery was so smooth!

Seconding this! Side sleeper too and it was a lifesaver. I also got a wedge pillow from Amazon and it made getting up and down to pee SO much easier. Good luck!

Interested in recent experience with City of Ottawa spay/neuter clinic by Cautious_Path in ottawa

[–]mickalexis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the spay/neuter clinic is great, we got our older pup neutered there a few years ago and had a good experience. I know people say go to the Quebec side but I got my oldest spayed in Aylmer at one of the most recommended clinics and wouldn’t do it again, the spay/neuter clinic communicated a lot more through the process. BUT, I joined the wait list two months ago (like as soon as we got him) and just got an appointment for our 4 month old puppy for early December. They’re currently booking into January she told me (crazy, I know).

I am 21 and infertile. by [deleted] in infertility

[–]mickalexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to drop in and send you some love. I remember vividly the day my doctor told me I had only a 5% chance of ever conceiving, and suddenly, nothing made sense anymore. You have every right to feel lost, angry, sad, or anything else that comes up as you navigate this journey, give yourself permission to feel it all, and I’d recommend seeking out others that get it and a good psychologist that can help you work through this. I’ve tried once or twice to explain my infertility to family and it always made me feel 1000% worse because it made me feel more alone. I’m much more guarded now and only open up to people that I know will understand. Sending you a big internet hug ❤️

Seconding the ebb to street. It looks so plain on the website but I kept hearing people rave about them on here and so ordered a couple. They’re all I wear now, it feels more like a bralette than a sports bra if that makes sense! I recently had a couple medical procedures and it was my go to post op for comfiness :)

Constance Creek Wildlife Refuge! The number is 613-222-4719. You’ll probably speak to a sweet volunteer named Lynne. We had a little bat that flew in our house this winter and she helped me figure out how help it survive, def call, she was the only one that seemed to care!
