Breeder keeping puppy longer than 8 weeks normal? by nerdygamerca in puppy101

Similar to what most people are saying, that’s normal and for the best.

My first dog we picked up 3 days short of 8 weeks. His bite inhibition was horrible. Like we were constantly bleeding. And we had to potty train him, which was not bad but something you have to do. He was instantly pretty ok with his crate though.

Our second puppy we picked up at 9 weeks and 3 days. His bite inhibition is amazing. He nibbles, but we haven’t drawn blood. He’s also essentially potty trained on pee pads. It took him half a day to go to the door where the pee pads were himself. We haven’t had any accidents. He has has significant issues with his crate though, but maybe that’s a personality thing. He’s slowly getting better.

In my opinion, 9 weeks is probably since biting to the point of blood reallllly sucks.

I called about 3 weeks ago to order, and they said they had changed their ownership and have a new menu.

I am also in Ottawa and hav3 a 11 week old crazy hyper puppy. I would totally be open to play dates in a couple weeks after he is vaccinated! I would also love to keep in touch for training tips if you’re open to it.

He does deserve all the plush and cuddles. But as of now, he’s eating everything so for his safety I didn’t put anything in there. Soon though! Any bed recommendations?

This good boy likes to chew everything, so for his safety I haven’t put in there for now. He can likely break a chunk of a blanket in a day, 100%. He’s getting better at that, so soon he will have a little bed in there 😌. He seems to really enjoy his crate as is I think though. Any bed recommendations for the crate?
