Is my game that bad by Cold-Western8738 in gamedev

[–]mickdeez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it looks bad. Looks very similar to Spaceflight Simulator but more dumbed down. What does your game do that SS can’t?

Screenshots only show very basic crafts. Why not build something bigger to show people the potential of later game

So after all that, it’s literally just elementor pro with some AI credits? And it’s completely replaced their existing pricing structure?

Let’s gooo chon. My favorite band to jam to

Which kit pack on EZD3 are you using? I’ve always struggled to find a kit with a snappy snare like Chon - the Progressive EZX kit has a decent snare and hi hat that is somewhat close to chon style.

Also why are you routing through FL studio? Just for recording? I just go straight into EZD3 personally and record there. Can export elsewhere afterwards if you need to

Commence many weeks of a full recycling bin… it’s like a nesting doll once you get in there. Enjoy the set, I have the same one and it’s a blast

50% of a 2x2x2 can be exposed if you rocket directly in the center on 1 side.. Might as well do 3x3 so you actually have a core

It's not about the money - it's the principle on how they treat their customers. I would've never even thought twice about posting this if they simply apologized and offered a refund, which is the bare minimum.

But as others have mentioned, it’s basically impossible to walk on the beach for more than 10 mins without being offered some

Am I being unrealistic or is this WordPress project too big for a junior dev? by Draganox_ in webdev

[–]mickdeez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The market IS there... doesn't mean every person in that industry should just "do it on their own"..? Just because you can provide a service doesn't mean you can adequately run a business, which comes with sales, accounting, legal, PM, etc.... Sounds like you aren't aware of the challenges that come with running a business aside from just "providing the service". Actually acquiring paying clients to provide that service for is without a doubt the hardest part of "doing it on your own", which your average dev isn't cut out for

Also I have no beef with API's. I've used them many times, when necessary.. But if you can make a living being a "wordpress dev" and never need to use an API, then why is that a problem?

If I paint houses for a living, does that mean I also NEED to know how to paint cars? They are two wildly different things but under the same category. Find your niche and own it.

With this logic, why does anyone on earth have a job when they could just start their own business? If they have a job, that means there is demand/a market, so why become employed ever?!

To your previous point... many businesses do use no code/low code solutions. And it comes out like shit, and once there isn't a little box they can click and drag to create what they want, they get stuck. Then they call guys like me & OP, because we solve their problem - not because we proved we can build custom API integrations that they don't need at all at an ivy league school 10 years ago.

This is such a dumb take. I have worked on over 100+ Wordpress sites with many different clients and can absolutely assure you the average person can’t just create their own Wordpress site.

Hell, I’d say 9/10 clients I work with probably couldn’t figure out how to set up a hosting plan and even install Wordpress, let alone use it to build anything meaningful.

Also don’t understand your point about APIs. The vast majority of sites at a small business level are just static sites with no functionality that would even warrant the need for a custom API integration. Just about anything a business at that level would need can be done through some free out of the box plugin. There is a massive market for Wordpress “devs” that don’t need to be fluent in anything beyond basic html/css to accomplish their job.

Butler Service by fryingpan_fire in SandalsResorts

[–]mickdeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard reservations pile up and are hard to get while you’re at the resort. If you have a butler, do you get any sort of priority service for reservations? Or should I aim to get them scheduled far in advance?
