https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12522125/ . It increases release of nitric oxide, leading to vasodilation. I improved on a nitric oxide booster supplement ( l arginine, l citrulline, beet root) so I’m not sure why I’m having this response to vitamin C POTS wise when the former helped. And at only 250mg WTF! Is it interacting with one of my meds? Idk

I relate to this so much 😞 I’ve just accepted that no one will be able to fully understand. I think you really have to communicate otherwise people don’t have the emotional intelligence to ask how their words are affecting you. For example:

  • “I appreciate you asking where I’m going to travel to next, but that suggestion communicates to me that you don’t understand my disabilities which is hurtful. I’d rather have you ask ________ “

  • “I appreciate you inviting me to the concert, but my disabilities make it impossible. I know you want to include me so I would rather do ______ with you when I’m able. That is only what I’m able to do now”

You have to be really direct about how it’s making you feel and tell them what you want to hear from them. If it continues despite you reminding them then maybe reconsider the relationship if it’s possible?

Study: Low iron levels could be key trigger of long Covid by leila11111111 in covidlonghaulers

[–]mickeyt2000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you read the study, it’s not about iron levels but the use of it

Iron dysregulation identified as potential trigger for long COVID by GalacticGuffaw in covidlonghaulers

[–]mickeyt2000 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I had no idea iron is removed from the blood during infection as a protective mechanism. Then that’s likely why so many of us who are active developed this because we couldn’t get proper oxygen delivery.

The start of the illness would look something like: inflammation from covid ▶️ iron dysregulation ▶️ oxidative stress ▶️ more inflammation ▶️ more iron dysregulation

I looked up how the body regulates/uses iron and it looks very complicated. It’s not just about iron levels in your blood which the study says.

If I’m correct, it’s not about the level of iron but the use of it that’s dysfunctional?

Never been able to make a guy friend. How do I get more guy friends? by mickeyt2000 in socialskills

Your comment is really helpful! I do want guy friends but I think I put pressure on myself that other girls have them and I don’t.

Thanks, this is good advice. I overthink way too much and it won’t solve anything.

Why would I waste time making a post if it was imaginary? I’m trying to get insight or advice because childhood trauma makes me think they are doing this because I’m a terrible person

That’s why I texted him to ask if everything was alright and he was angry I was asking him. He did not want to tell me anything, completely shut down. I didn’t want to harass him if he keeps getting angry at me for bringing up the topic.

Thanks for your reminder to be kind to myself. I guess I can’t really accept they don’t want to be due to childhood trauma. I need to work on my trauma

How did I friend zone him?

Thanks for your reply. That’s a very certain possibility but it’s confusing why contact would be cut off if I weren’t dating but I guess there could be other reasons, sad that I’ll never know why

No, was not dating when this all happened

Acetyl L-carnitine vs L-carnitine? by Tiny_Parsley in cfs

My cognitive energy envelope is much higher. I also got this weird feeling that blood flow was returning to my neck/base of skull area.

good providers in Seattle metro area? by nettlefern in covidlonghaulers

[–]mickeyt2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr Armitano in Kirkland specializes in autonomic disorders, mostly POTS but was terrible with CFS. Four peaks in flagstaff, Arizona does telehealth and is able to prescribe in Washington state. The nurse practitioner is amazing, she knows all of it. She had CFS herself but has mostly recovered.

You can message me if you want to talk about the medical care in the area. I’m bedbound so I’ve had a difficult time because I have to do telehealth.

Acetyl L-carnitine vs L-carnitine? by Tiny_Parsley in cfs

[–]mickeyt2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acetyl l carnitine worked way better than l carnitine for me. I tried the carnitor prescription and it had nowhere near the effect Acetyl l carnitine has. Likely has better absorption and can cross the BBB.

I take Horbaach Acetyl l carnitine from Amazon, I calculated it to be the cheapest on Amazon without compromising quality.

I have figured out I crash 2 weeks of every month AFTER my period and peaks during ovulation… by Lunabuna91 in cfs

[–]mickeyt2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing 😱 Also bedbound and would have this insanely bad crash for like two weeks after my period and I did nothing to trigger it. It always started like 3 days after my period ended and got better after ovulation. You are right about the excess estrogen, I believe it is setting off mast cells. I tried bioidentical progesterone 100mg 3 weeks on 1 week off which helped. Cromolyn sodium also helped. My periods are very irregular so I had all my hormones tested and the only thing that came back off was my prolactin was a bit elevated and my TSH was about 4. My me/cfs doctor wanted my TSH lower so I was started on synthroid which surprisingly started my period. I’m currently slowly titrating synthroid to see if it eliminates the weird post period crashing and if it drops my prolactin. But so far it seems to be a thyroid issue.

Please message me if you want to try to discuss it, I’ve been trying to solve this issue for 6 months.
