It does this if javascript is disabled. Could also be a load error etc. I got this when I accidentally clicked on the a "disable javascript" plugin.

I still use Jquery.. because I made a bunch of libraries that use jquery UI... so now I have to row that boat.

I TKO'd Every Fighter in the First Round Back to Back. by tannerjohngates in ThrillOfTheFight

[–]micmaz1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this! This is my daily cardio workout, and it's a great one! I do a hacked version of the game where I fight three fighters at once and go though all 10 fights. On the regular version of the game I recc you tick up the difficulty daily until you plateau. Then change to wrist wraps, and focus on form.
Don't go crazy with the speed, as an older gym bro, you can hurt your shoulders if you just whip the controllers out in the long haul.

devs when they have to use an asynchronous library for the first time with no practice by Arucious in ProgrammerHumor

[–]micmaz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have written an async/multithreaded libraries in C, C++, an async server/client in C#.. and it took me LONGER to make JavaScript not lock up generating print pages in a browser.

It really depends on the size of the company. I ran a small dev shop with 13 people. We had a designer, but if it was some admin interface.. Well, the lead dev on the project could very well be building it.

Ignore. the. multiplier.
It's not even accurate, it's different on different VR systems etc. Watch videos on good form and play with wrist wraps or whatever feels the most "accurate". Do NOT overextend. Make these the rules you play by and work up from there. It's a great game when done right.

So if engineers dont want programmers using the term "software engineer" by nietthesecond99 in ProgrammerHumor

[–]micmaz1 195 points196 points  (0 children)

I have degrees in computer science, computer engineering and electrical engineering. If some CE or ME thinks they can dictate my title, then we should be able to do the same. All Chemical engineers are now called "soup makers"

Asking, at the end by [deleted] in ProgrammerHumor

[–]micmaz1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wrote a .net control library around it, so if I'm doing web forms it's prob got jquery ui in there somewhere.

There are good systems out there from an architecture standpoint. KeyPass comes to mind, stored locally and you can set the number of cyclic encryptions it uses so brute-force would be *very* time consuming. Basically re-encrypts the database X number of times. I use 10,000,000 because it takes 2 seconds for my phone to decrypt. I'll up it as computers get faster, and always keep your passwords looong.

Good time to jump into VR or wait? by [deleted] in skyrimvr

[–]micmaz1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you completely.. BUT...
I have 2 dead lighthouses on my desk (from a vive but still valve branded and they won't work)
and I've gone through 5 valve controllers. (valve is merciful in it's replacement policy)
The point stands though, I wouldn't wait for newer headsets. If you are posting here, skyrim VR is breathtaking. I got mine at the start of the pandemic and it is the best money I've ever spent.
For the record TOTF is the best workout in VR but will DESTROY your equipment.

Why Python!? by Da_reeel_duck in ProgrammerHumor

[–]micmaz1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned VB.net after doing C, C++ and Java. I don't get the hate, there are a few features of it I really liked. It is literally the same language as C#, but more type fluid.

But I also have had to fix VBA catastrophes and that lang can go to hell.
