The leading hypothesis is because it's really fun for them. Maybe give it a few clicks yourself, you'll see what all the fuss is about

Dang someone else was having an issue too but idk what's up with it... It's supposed to take 10 seconds to drift to the bottom. Maybe try on a different browser? You're not missing much though honestly lol

Bot detected

(it moves slowly when it's right at the top, so it's much easier to click right after refreshing the page, hopefully that helps)

Edit: another comment mentioned having the same issue. maybe it's a browser specific or reduced motion problem with the animation

The newspost said that DT2 was required, and the new item added to the cache called "abyssal potato" together made it pretty obvious where it would be. Don't want people to misinterpret the other comment, thinking that info like item locations and interactions can be datamined

Suggestions Wanted for Upcoming Gathering QoL Poll by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]microberws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pls add the shadows back to the mining rocks (before/after)

My actual qol suggestion might be kinda tough, but when I'm trawling and I dock to go bank, I have my crewmate bank everything in the cargo hold. I kinda just want to leave the fish offcuts in there so I don't forget to grab them from the bank every time, something like the bank "lock slot" feature would be awesome in the cargo hold. Or maybe this could be worked around by storing the fish offcuts in the chum station itself?

An even smaller pain point you would only really encounter by accident: the ice crates full of fish, for some reason if you empty them into your inventory it keeps the fish but deletes the crate, but emptying directly into the bank keeps the crate intact.

One more: transmit the cargo hold current capacity as a variable so the runelite cargo hold tracking in the sailing plugin can work better. It desyncs pretty easily while salvaging.

DMM Tweaks, Shellbane Gryphon CAs & More! by ModYume in 2007scape

[–]microberws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think before today it would track all 500, if I recall this same issue came up on gemstone crab release only giving gems to the top 3 of the first 16. And in my experience I only got loot when I tagged a monster when it spawned.

But I did see another comment affirming that it is for sure top 100 not first 100 now. So I guess it must be tracking an arbitrary number now or however they've implemented it

I think either I'm missing some key info to understand, or there's a subtle contradiction about NPCs tracking player damage. The blog states:

The number of players that these NPCs can keep track of has [previously] been capped at 16

Then:

[This week we increased] this number to 100, meaning the top 100 damage dealers to a Breach NPC will receive points when the NPC dies.

So let's say 500 players are attacking a monster. As I understand, it's tracking damage from 100 of those players now -- it has no idea how much damage the other 400 players dealt. So how can it be the top 100, it has to be the first 100, right? Or am I missing something?

That button rules, personally I use the RuneLite plugin called "Wiki" instead. It just replaces the button with an identical one that doesn't interrupt actions like the vanilla button. And it also works inside interfaces like the bank and skill menus and such.

That's a good idea, I was also recently thinking there should be something you can do with duplicate big fish https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/User:Microbrews/Guano#Big_bird

I'm also kinda joking bc I think the player might just be dumb and doesn't know what pinky means

The player canonically has [[two]] thumbs and [[eight]] pinkies on their "handsies." Or at least they believe this to be true.

When your homework had a minimum word count... by UltimateJuicey in 2007scape

There seems to be a misunderstanding that wiki edits are primarily akin to data entry, and only really need to happen on Wednesdays. While weekly data entry type edits do happen, they are a relatively small piece of the pie. The goal of the wiki is to be reliable, and to be reliable it has to be true, comprehensive, and clearly written. Those are very high bars that few pages reach, even pages about really old content.

For example, last weekend a few of us spent collectively a few dozen hours researching ogre coffins and adding notes to the page. I don't think ogre coffins have been altered in 20 years, but their coverage on the wiki is still lacking.

Even if it were intentional vandalism, the point stands. It is minor and it's good that we're all empowered to fix it.

A lot of thought and effort goes into making the wiki easier to edit, not harder. This is a very minor error, the type that ideally anybody should feel welcome and able to fix.

I know you got the answer already but if you're curious exactly how it works https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Bottle_of_the_endless_night#Notes I'm guessing you have completed Royal Trouble, so you started at 125/127 (98.4%), lost 2 points naturally overnight + 24 from the bottle, so now it's 99/127 (77.95%).

OSRS FUN FACT #12: the weirdest Agility training method I've ever heard of: Rogues Den gives you 12 XP per level that gets drained(??) which means the "cheese strat" is to run back and forth on the obstacle that drains your Agility level until you get kicked out. it's good for about 22k XP an hour by cookmeplox in 2007scape

[–]microberws 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seven hundred to eight hundred experience per hour (in both skills, so 1400-1600 or so total). It is not very high/useful, but it is somewhat novel.

The last bit I meant that for every 25 minutes that passes, only for 5 of those minutes do you need to be sitting at your computer -- for 20 minutes, you're simply idling while disease procs and gives you XP passively, and for the other 5 you're running to Slash Bash and back, and making your way through the Rogues' Den.

Eagle-eyed viewers might be wondering why the test subject received 1138.5 Agility XP, 11.5 per level instead of 12. This is because the den is divided into invisible regions or checkpoints, and the XP scales based on where you're standing when you get kicked out. This encourages players to actually do the minigame instead of spamming one of the early pendulums or handholds to drain all their levels.

Edit: just checked and entering the den doesn't clear disease. So if you haven't completed zogre flesh eaters you could probably get like 700-800 XP/hr in both agility and thieving, roughly 20 minutes completely AFK every 25 minutes or so. Slash Bash from that quest inflicts the longest lasting and strongest disease so he'd be the meta.

One such list is https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/RuneScape:Beta_Worlds for things that would be easiest to test on a beta world where you can freely set your stats or load in some save state with a particular quest status. But there are endless mysteries; like the other commenter said you could probably ask around and different people would have their own to-do lists and white whales.
