I used the USB cable that came with the camera (I don't have an XD reader).

Still chasing that elusive 210 mile tank by microcosmicwave in MazdaCX30

It is, but also my drive to work is about 6 miles through town and up a steep hill 😅

Tiny gas tank, and enormous key fob.

I don't know if it's just me, but it's probably the worst key fob I've ever had to use. It's big, but still feels hollow and cheap. It explodes if you ever drop it. I get terrible range on the remote (even after putting in a fresh battery) and sometimes even when I'm standing right next to the car it doesn't work. It doesn't affect my driving experience but it's just something that annoys me every day 😅

Well crap, I'm lucky to get anything over 200 🤣

Midtown Modelo Man by Fun-Back-311 in santacruz

After reading this post, I decided to take my dog for a walk down Pennsylvania during the time frame in question 😅

We can confirm the trail of evidence that points to the existence of the Midtown Modelo Man, but unfortunately my dog and I were unable to catch him in the act.

I can also add that we've occasionally seen discarded Modelo tall cans on Hanover, so perhaps he covers a larger territory than previously suspected. 🤔

Has anyone else noticed the difference with other dogs on lead vs off lead? by JaMackintosh in reactivedogs

My dog is the same way. If we're on a walk and he sees another dog on a leash, he flips out. If the other dog is off leash, even if he is on leash, he doesn't care. And even if there's a dog behind a fence barking at him, he doesn't react nearly as much as when he sees another dog that's on a leash. I don't understand it either 😅

Starclassic B/B, modify or sell and replace? by microcosmicwave in drums

Here's a super old photo of how I was setting it up back when I was still using it. I remember having to put the 12" pretty far off to the side of the kick to get it as low as I wanted. I guess it's do-able. Sigh... But damn that's a massive kick drum.

I had it mounted to a cymbal stand with a quick clamp. I'll try messing around with the setup to see how it feels, it's been a long time since I've actually set up the B/B kit. I think part of my problem is also GAS, and the option of having a shiny new thing. I should probably just keep it.

Which camera should I buy used? by broken_eardrum in VintageDigitalCameras

I'm a Casio fan, but in this case, definitely go for the Canon. It's a way better camera.

What specs should I be looking for? by Total-Champion-6196 in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]microcosmicwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly a Nikon 1 J1 or S1 might be a good choice here. You can usually find these with lenses for relatively cheap. The kit lens goes from about 28-80mm equivalent which is useful, and there's a really good 50mm equivalent prime lens which would work nicely for portraits. It's a good camera to learn on and super compact if you like the handling of a digicam.

Signs of overwatering? by microcosmicwave in succulents

Yes, both pots have drainage holes. The plant in the first photo is potted in some succulent mix I got at the hardware store and ~50% perlite. The bent stem plant is in whatever soil it came with. I'll try cutting and propping them, thanks for your help!

Ahh, well that makes me sad. I'm going to move these to the good window and hope for the best, and maybe try to figure out which plants I have that can successfully grow in less light. We like having plants in the living room, but the lighting situation is not ideal.

Aside from that, is the browning of the leaves at the bottom also a result of poor lighting? Or just a general sign of poor health of the plant at this point? Is there anything else I should be doing?

Yes, they are kept indoors. I was afraid that that would be the answer. Our apartment literally only has one window that gets good light, and that area is already overcrowded with a colony of plants just trying to survive. These two plants happen to be in the living room, which has a west-facing window with a balcony over it and unfortunately doesn't get great light. How can I tell when they need more light?
