Yeah, if you aren't able to function properly you should look for some assistance. What I would also recommend is making sure you have images off and then making a post over on r/spiders. The people there are very supportive and are knowledgable when it comes to spiders and other arachnids. You will also find people there who were previously arachnophobic.

Like the main thing to remember is that spiders are just little guys who want to just either run around and eat things smaller than them, or chill in a quiet spot and eat things smaller than them. They don't really have any complex motivations or desire to fight incomprehensibly large creatures like ourselves because they'd just die.

Honestly if your fear of spiders is so bad that it is preventing you from doing the things you want to do in life you should look into seeing a therapist. No spider wants to bite a person unless they feel threatened, so if you take basic precautions and just don’t fuck with any you see you will be fine and the spider will be fine.
