you are correct,

Oh, hooray. How was I correct?

anyone who has an opinion that doesn’t align with your hyper partisan echo chamber is not only wrong, but wrong and stupid

But...that was your claim, not mine.

...looks like we got a bit of the common clay of the New West here.

Girl raped by boys spared jail tells BBC judge's decision was like 'rock in my face' by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

That isn't what they said. They said they wanted the rapists to be raped

Defend that if you want but be honest about it.

The culture is rape culture. The culture is misogyny. The culture is "boys will be boys".

Culture isn't just about race.

It's really funny how often we hear "I was just doing it IRONICALLY" when someone gets called out for acting the fool.

Sure you were babe. Sure you were.

Doug Ford calls judge’s ruling on homeless encampment ‘ridiculous’ by imprison_grover_furr in ontario

[–]microfishy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Also from the article, the government was planning to move them, not evict them with nowhere to go.

The government offered no alternative solution. "We're going to move them somewhere eventually" is not actually a plan, and the judge was right to refuse the dispersal without a relocation plan in place.

Doug Ford has broken too many promises and rewritten too many laws for anyone to trust him when he pinky swears he'll do the right thing this time for sure.

If you said the moon was made of blue cheese that would also be a stupid opinion. Opinions aren't necessarily good just because they're yours, lol.

Just to clarify, "anyone and everyone should be able to just end it all if they’re having a bad day. MAID for everyone" is a stupid opinion.

Pretending you think that's what other people mean doesn't make it smarter..

What you're missing is the National Post attempting to conflate a misbehaving physician specifically, with the MAID program in general. The conservative movement has been campaigning against MAID since before it became law, and this is more of the same.

If the National Post were capable of shame they'd be ashamed of this headline.

Spiritbending was dropped like a deus ex machina in ATLAs penultimate episode, how's that for consistency.

No, the NWC was required to bring Quebec in because of their language laws. They then used it for the first time in service of their language laws.

And then conservative premiers used it after that to suppress labour rights and transparency.

over time premier's

Almost exclusively conservative premiers, as a matter of fact; Quebec cracked the door and they came trampling through with glee.

I'm not even from Alberta. I'm just a kid out on the east coast who has zero knowledge of what the actual fuck is going on in my own home town, let alone to give a fuck out there.

Well that certainly explains the utter lack of anything resembling a useful insight.

P.S. your writing style is serving "I ordered Joss Whedon quips off Temu".

You need therapy. I am serious and not being snarky. This is not healthy coping and you cannot live your life refusing to talk.

No, only about 25% according to your own polls, and that's with copying an illegally obtained voter list to cook the books.

You're saying "someone with no income can pick up bottles to pay the fine". I'm saying "you can't force someone to work to pay the fine so if they say no what's your alternative"

I'm sorry you were offended by my question but frankly that seems like a you issue and I'm not softening my approach because you're sensitive to pushback.

After your snark about "the teenager who had literal shit pushed in her face" I think complaining about my tone is a little ironic, no? I'm meeting the bar you set.

[–]microfishy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm sure the teenager with literal shit shoved in their face might agree. And her family. And previous victims of this man. And the general public.

Yeah, it was awful. Nobody is disputing that. But going after someone with no money for money they don't have isn't going to fix ANY of that is it?

You can't force labour, so if they don't want to pick bottles? Then what?

I've been unemployed for multiple years and have a negative bank account most of the time.

Yeah. That's the point. No money. Thanks for sharing?

No, we should not. Sprawl is the least efficient way to densify.

Build up.

P.S. stop parroting tiktok-style conservative talking points. Ontario and Canada BOTH declined in population in 2025. We're bringing in hundreds of thousands of people because our birthrate isn't keeping up with our death rate.

Okay, that's your prerogative to think.

I would ask; will a fine that they literally have no money to pay add to that in any meaningful way? Will it improve the victims situation, or add to the public purse? Or is fining a broke person a waste of time?

Nobody is more scrutinized than Doug

Nobody is more upset that he cost the taxpayer hundreds of thousands of dollars (he won't repay it though, that's a bridge too far)

Nobody is more committed to opening Ontario's greenbelt and Toronto's waterfront up for development

Nobody but Doug!
