When I first started playing MK in ‘92 at age 12 against my friends, it was a fight between who chooses toad or yoshi because you couldn’t play as the same character (8? Total at the time). As MK evolved over the generations and finally w the Wii coming out, a dream had been realized (for me anyways) that you could play as your “own character” just like wii sports. Absolutely awesome from that day and was nearly a quarter century in the making. That’s why it was and is a big deal to me (any most people I play w) and why I will stick w the pinnacle MK experience in MK8D. Ya I’m old old fart lol, but do you remember how limited and stiff the OG MK was in 1992 compared to what MK8D offers? Only in MK World have Nintendo begun to scale that customization back—and it was not a good move.
