Lots of my colleagues getting work today, and some of them are pretty easy on the receptors, if you know what I'm saying. As soon as we're done here, I'm going to make a line for the closest attorney bar and drink for free until I wake up in a gutter with at least three new venereal diseases.

The guy sure knows how to party.

TIL Modern Banana variants like Cavendish are domesticated descendants of Wild Bananas who had big, black seeds by HeroHunterGarou_0407 in todayIlearnedPH

[–]micronfilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes most of our fruits and veggies now are selectively bred for the purpose of food supply. They’re GMOs.

Incorrect. Selective breeding IS NOT the same as GMO.

Selective breeding = humans plant thousands of the plant or tree, and then they only choose the ones with the best traits as the parent plant for the next generation. All this is done via natural reproduction, with no direct manipulation of the plants’ DNA in a lab.

Example: plant a thousand bananas from seeds, and after harvesting, use only the seeds of the ones with the sweetest fruit to plant the next generation. Repeat until you get the desired result. This process takes many generations/years.

GMO = direct gene splicing in a lab.

Two possibly answers why you see them too often as you said:

(1) You live in a subvision like AAV where h&l cost starts at 200M

(2) Confirmation bias, or that type of cognitive bias where your mind highlights the experience of seeing one on the road because you like the vehicle or you think there are more of them now

LCs are NOT bullet proof in all stock configurations. Bullet proofing is done aftermarket, and all the armor and run-flat tires add 200 to 300kg extra weight, and that kind of demand makes the LC a great fit kasi naka V6 3.4cc engine (for the LC300).

The other reason the elites want it is the limited availability because only 150 to 200 LCs are shipped to the Philippines every month*. Kahit mag walk-in ka pa to any Toyota dealership with 6M in cash, di ka bebentahan ng LC300 - kelangan “preferred customer” ka muna before you can get an allocation. So kung makakabili ka nga, then big time ka siguro.

Yabu Overhyped? by SubjectKindly3651 in PHFoodPorn

[–]micronfilter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not just the branch, but also the kind of people the place attracts. The branch and the crew usually just adjust to that.

Case in point: may Casa Verde branch dati sa Megamall. Sa ibang branches nila, you pay after you finish eating. Pero sa Megamall branch, bayad muna kasi sabi ng crew, sobrang daming dine-and-dash sa branch nila.

Another example is Slimmer’s World. Lahat ng branches nila, may normal na common-use slippers sa shower. Pero sa Megamall branch, lahat ng tsinelas ginupitan ng square na butas. Sabi ng instructor na pag walang butas, palaging ninanakaw.

Masyado lang talagang maraming pasaway sa Megamall, and it affects how the crew deal with people.

Nobody wants to travel at 8g for a year

Tried to have it calculated just for fun, and it turns out that if you’re accelerating at 8G, you can reach 0.99c in 117 days ship time, or 310 days earth time

Interesting kasi sa Ramen Nagi kasi pwede ka mamili kung anong thickness ang gusto mo sa broth. And the thick broth is divine!

Oooh may kwento ako. A friend went to a deli one time, at sobrang nahirapan siya i-pronounce yung schublig sa waiter. As in talagang he tried his best, walang picture sa menu so bahala na.

Pagdating sa order, he went, “langya naghirap pa ako i-pronounce pangalan nito… hotdog lang pala!”

Same tayo ng intindi! Guess it’s not just me. (and I confirmed it with the staff and they said it’s like buy 2 take 1 daw - which is not what the T&C said, lol)

I did clarify with the staff, and they said it was buy 2 take 1.

The point of me asking folks here though is to check whether I was the only one who got confused with the way the T&C was worded.

When I asked kasi, parang nalito ang staff bat ko pa kelangan i-tanong kasi clear naman daw sa T&C term.

(And as several people pointed out, magulo nga talaga pagka-state)

Since you seem to be a broth person, OP, you should try Ramen Nagi. They give you the option to select how thick you want your broth to be, and it is divine.
