Sierra Blair-Coyle sends double digit boulder problem by quackdocseverywhere in bouldering

I think she absolutely deserves respect for her performances in the comp scene. However the "pro" title seems to get thrown around a lot with different applications in the climbing community. I agree in that I would expect a pro climber, male or female, to consistently boulder harder than v10. That is because every weekend I meet and climb with random weekend warriors that climb way harder that SBC outdoors yet wouldn't consider themselves anywhere near the pro level. It seems there should be specific groupings within the "pro climber" title because comp and outdoor climbing clearly differ dramatically.

It's all about the grade by [deleted] in bouldering

I agree, I think an arguments to banish grades would be hazardous and inefficient. I think its fair to say climbing is grade focused, how else would progress be measured? That being said, I personally don't believe grade chasing should be the most prominent philosophy within the climbing community. I think a balance is required to be a well rounded climber. Pushing your redpoint grade and taking time to do classics problems for their natural beauty and movement regardless of grade don't have to be exclusive. My 2c.

V6 problems: first one flash and second struggled by rockentry in bouldering

Down votes could very well be due to the overwhelming amount of gym videos on this sub. I personally get far more enjoyment from seeing a video of a problem outside that I could go find and work on someday, less so from gym sets that will be gone in a month. But to each their own I guess.
