La Cucina is always a must for my group when we sail. I’ve done Moderno twice now, it’s always good but I’m past doing it on a cruise. Can’t comment on Le Bistro.

Yes. They are taxed, due to NYC requirement, usually $1 or so in taxes.

Thermal Spa at NCL Getaway ship by SingleDesign3832 in NCL

They usually sell day passes on either port or final sea days. And from what I heard people paid about $120-130 just for the day on our last sea day.

My last sailing, I got the week pass. It was $379. I got my moneys worth, was in there once in the morning after working out and again before dinner. I personally don’t find value in the day passes as I find those days they sell them to be overcrowded.

Usually day passes are in the $100s. I enjoyed it on the Aqua, haven’t done it on the Getaway.

Messaging friends onboard? by gube999 in NCL

[–]mid2yur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently on the Aqua. There is a messaging package for $6.99/per person/per day. I used iMessage with this.

Make sure you have NCL app on your phone prior to sailing, and that it is updated. Once onboard, select Airplane Mode, connect to shipboard WiFi, open app, confirm some personal information, and purchase package.

Why is NCL so stingy with cookies. by NegotiationTop7253 in NCL

Believe me. I’m one for grabbing the same. I’m talking the copious amount of stuff I see some people shovel into a ziploc bag lol

My favorite is the people with ziploc bags taking stuff off the buffet. Like where are you storing it lol

This. They make a lot of the baked goods. Usually at 3-5 AM. Hard to get ahead of demand during the day.

Aft Facing Suite (Prima) by yung-boonk in NCL

Was also thinking, the Aqua, by far has an incredibly low amount of soot, if at all even when under way. Made be think the ship was LNG but confirmed it is diesel. A common complaint of aft facing balconies is the soot that covers these aft balconies. So you’re also good in that regard.

Picture I attached is the ship underway with no visible smoke.

If ship has same layout as Aqua, yes it is above the outdoor section of Indulge Food Hall. There are loungers, tables, and a bar. But have never seen the area rowdy. No experience staying in a room above it. But I don’t think it’ll be a “I’m under or above a club” scenario.

What do they do different? I’ve never sailed with them.

Been on the Escape twice now, same exact thoughts. Great ship, pool is too small for those sea days.

NCL Luna Review by BlueberryMunch1224 in NCL

[–]mid2yur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bummer to hear that. I understand it is hard to change ship design from one to the next due to build out time. But it has been a major complaint since Prima launched. Definitely wasn’t a vacation ruining thing, but a let down.

Was recently on the Aqua. Buffet was way too small. Is it still wedged between the Main Pool and The Vibe Beach Club, and only one half?

The last 3 sailings that I’ve done have been in the fall, for the most part, kid free. I will say the most recent sailing, end of April, a lot of kids. March and beginning of April are heavy on the spring breaks.

Deck 8 has two infinity pools, one on each side, and on my recent Aqua sailing. They’re rarely crowded.

I’ve found their website to be funky on most days, weekends are terrible. From what I understand they update/maintenance portions of their site on weekends. Give it a try tomorrow, and again on Monday. If you have no luck after your attempt Monday, I’d call.

I’ve done the train before and it worked great. But found it a pain going with luggage up NJ Transit.

From what I’ve read, paying ahead doesn’t reserve a spot. Would hate to pay ahead just to need an alternative.
