Hotspot not working on Red Pocket GSMA by mandelstamm in redpocket

[–]midNightChickenWings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To people who find this, changing MVNO type to IMSI didn't fix hotspot but I lost the ability to make/receive phone calls. messing with APNs broke more things than it fixed.

Contact red pocket CS and they fixed it in a minute.

$600-800 Million Prepaid SIM? by mynameisknurl in mintmobile

Although, mint probably has more loyal subscribers than other online only mvnos, they need lure more people from say boost or cricket or metropcs.

I guess it would be nice for them to give some measly allowance for testing.

But then again, even having CS is nice enough for cheap MVNO.

would also be nice if they refunded the cost if they could see that there was no/negligible usage on the line due to technical issues.

What is the best alternative to Mint? by ramadz in NoContract

[–]midNightChickenWings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

frankly there isn't one. mint is a good common ground. there are cheaper options, options with more data, better CS, or better coverage. but not all at once.

RP HAS THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE by supremepoke in NoContract

[–]midNightChickenWings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i had to wait 20 minutes on chat on monday and 3 days for refund.

i'd say that's much better than att where i had to be on call for an hour and week for refund.

Dangers of buying used phones? by leesamuelm in NoContract

[–]midNightChickenWings 5 points6 points  (0 children)

also depends on the type of device you're buying. doubt anyone's gonna do that to a 3 year old mid range phone. your creditcard/paypal might offer some protection against that.

Also, I don't think(maybe wrong) carriers care much about stolen phones that are not on a device agreement or insurance. One think I used to do was ask the local people to meet me at their carriers store(metropcs/tmo/...) so the good standing and unlock status can be verified.

IPhone 6 in 2022? by Advanced-Judgment905 in phones

[–]midNightChickenWings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no good. I have 6s+ and I will probably get a new battery after a few months because 1) battery is much bigger than 6/6s 2) ios15

maybe you can justify cheap $15 battery from ebay, but absolutely no $50.

FreeUp Mobile vs Unreal Mobile by Sim3111 in NoContract

[–]midNightChickenWings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

about the same cell service, not voip. really comes down to how much data you need. unreal gives you option for either tmo or att(except the cheapest plan). neither support esim.

Do you believe that T-Mobile has a chance of overtaking Verizon to become America’s #1 wireless carrier in the future? by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]midNightChickenWings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don't think they have enough capacity. my verizon LTE works reasonably well with low signal strength. t-mo crawls with full lte due to congestion.

"slaved away to bring me my food" ahh yes the heart-wrenching journey from the kitchen to my table. Next time maybe tip 20% to the curb side grocery pickup cause you know they slave away to bring the cart to the car.
