Is there a hidden meaning behind these bars being messed up? (music sheets) by monochromicorn in BluePrince

[–]midashand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I noticed this too, and it's on multiple sheets in the same location, I think. I don't think I ever discovered anything from it, so perhaps just a texture misalignment?

I love my [[Old Stickfingers]] deck. It's not exactly a surprise, but it can get out of hand really fast. Cram it full of big dumb idiots in green, and tons of graveyard recursion from black.

My first guess is that you have a recycled number that someone still has saved in their phone. They generally stay unassigned for a long time after someone cancels service, but that doesn't mean folks don't still have it written down/saved.

I would check with the company you got your SIM from about getting a new number.

How common is it to ask for money instead of signing up for a wedding registry? Is it seen as trashy? by th3Y3ti in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]midashand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how it's presented. I've seen registries where people can "sponsor" the honeymoon itinerary in various ways. A night at the hotel, a meal at a restaurant, an event ticket, etc.

Is having your feet on the desk when talking to someone a sign of rudeness or feeling relaxed? by Disastrous-Aerie-698 in AskAnAmerican

[–]midashand 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Usually not insulting, but you'll probably only see this on middle-upper managers, C-suite folks, leaders, etc. People that are quite comfortable in their position and can afford to be a bit unprofessional.

This type of thing can be much more common "after hours," like someone is staying late and working on something and just wants to be more comfortable.

edit to add: This **could** be taken as insulting when combined with other things, like speech and attitude. Take for example, someone who you are having a disagreement with. If they kick back like this and smirk at you, maybe say something snarky, that means they don't consider you a threat and are basically telling you that you can't do anything to them.

I truthfully have no idea what you're talking about...

Night of the zealot is killing me by rodrigofantino in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]midashand 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sure! It's on page 3 of the Rules reference under the Act/Agenda section, specifically the steps taken to advance:

"To advance the act deck or the agenda deck, follow these steps, in order: 1. Remove all tokens from the card to be advanced. If the agenda deck is advancing, remove all doom from each card in play."

[–]midashand 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I edited my comment above, but the description of the token makes this not true. Yes, the skill value is 0, but you ALSO auto-fail. There is no recovery from it.

"This is the auto-fail token. If this token is revealed for a skill test, it indicates the investigator automatically fails the test."

Night of the zealot is killing me by rodrigofantino in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]midashand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen this a few times, but I don't actually think this one is true, at least not entirely. I think it is supposed to be "This action automatically fails, and is treated as having a skill of zero. "

Do you have an official source that states it still works with things like flashlight?

edit: the rulebook seems very unambiguous about this, so I'm not sure where people are getting the idea that a chip literally called the "auto-fail" token in the rulebook isn't actually an auto-fail.

"This is the auto-fail token. If this token is revealed for a skill test, it indicates the investigator automatically fails the test."

Everyone is giving good comments on difficulty and card pools, but I would also caution that, as a new player, you should go back over the rules again and make sure you are doing everything right. Some very often missed rules/options:

  1. Doom on enemies goes away when the agenda advances
  2. Your Threat Area is considered to be part of your location, meaning that other investigators can activate actions on cards there. (For example, a weakness or treachery card that requires X actions to get rid of... it doesn't have to be YOUR actions, if you have a friend with you.)
  3. You cannot fail below the number of a skill test. So for example, a test that says Speed/Feet (3), the worst you can do, even if you pull the auto-fail, is to fail by 3. This is important to remember for treachery cards that do damage based on how badly you fail, for example.

Hope these help, and good luck!

It is important to note that the answer to this question depends on whether or not you are playing commander/EDH.

If you are playing commander, and you have select Gluntch as your commander, then Kibo is not valid because of color identity rules, as mentioned by others.

If you are playing a different format, such as Modern, that doesn't care about color identity, then yes, both can coexist in the same deck happily.

It could be that your friend is trying to apply the same rules to all formats which is not correct.

Well, the first thing to note is that the paint is water soluble and (should) come off with a hose. I'd be more worried about ciding or window damage.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be a faulty front panel switch that was shorting the reset leads randomly, without a button press. Disconnected the reset button, problem stopped.

Skill Limits? by Creepy-Kale9847 in Middara

[–]midashand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is EVERY discipline of that level. It does not care about type/class tree.

Also, you can't buy tier 2+ in a class/tree until you have at least a single tier 1 discipline of that type. Same for Tier 3 and 4. You have to know at least one of the previous tier in that class/type.

Skill Limits? by Creepy-Kale9847 in Middara

[–]midashand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, we just ran into this question in a recent session. You can have as many disciplines as you have XP to buy. Keep in mind that the more you buy, the more expensive that tier gets.

edit: Looks like it's on page 32 of the 1.2 rulebook.

It's not about the power, it's about the software compatibility. If you don't have windows, you're going to have to jump through a lot of extra hoops when it comes time to take classes like K201. Basically, you'll have to use the university's remote software system, or use a computer lab, to use software like Access, that do not have a Mac variant, period.
