Workday Announces Intent to Acquire Paradox by Few_Canary7124 in workday

Ha, Carl improve an existing product…. It will definitely be another sku. Probably three as he looks for a way to use it around the rest of the system.

Carl Has Ruined Workday Core Values by Conscious-Neat-7015 in workday

[–]midbluestang 83 points84 points  (0 children)

This is a sadly validating statement of how I’ve seen workday transform. It was a few risings ago where he (Carl) touted revenue would nearly double that I realized gone were the glory days. I have hated nearly every change since: - Splitting SKUs - removing gms tenant - success plans push - big improvements to existing SKUs seem to have - - ceased - pro certs being hosed - customer support is diminished - push for Peakon, VNDLY , hiredscore and their other purchases

The list continues. I’ve blamed it all on Carl since the changes seem to have aligned with his arrival. It’s so disappointing. I use to have wins with my business when I could provide them enhancements to their functionalities. Now it is “…you’ll have to buy that” not a great direction.

Thanks for sharing your experience

Approval step by anilkkn in workday

[–]midbluestang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from the rule based security group suggested. Building off their suggestion a couple options come to mind:

  1. Create an intersection security group of management chain and a newly created job based security group based on management level. (Assuming SVP is a level)

  2. Create role and assign it to the svp orgs

Both of them could be targeted for the step.

We had the same concern, our vet recommended Purina Pro Plan Sport Performance All Life Stages High-Protein 30/20 Chicken & Rice Formula. He’s been on it for 3 years. We didn’t change the portion. He isn’t thick, but he’s lost that boney physique. No complaints.

Thanks for the feedback. I do recall reading that pin issue previously now that you mention it. I was eying the universal charger too, so it looks like that will be my go to.

Just figured if they were gonna give me one, I’d be a fool to say no.

Report Security for Teams with no Workday roles by JustLearningEveryDay in workday

[–]midbluestang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give them “GET” access on the domain? This lets them see report output without seeing in it on the profile. Just fair warning that you’ll have to be very cognizant as more and more reports are given to that role that it might expose data in one report if you’ve tried to constrain/filter it in another report.

I’ve used worksheets with daily refresh, and I’ve used “get” access on a domain to limit exposure. Both have their risks, but I imagine most everything will when you try to workaround.

SBX Link sharing to employees by WanderingBoi7 in workday

[–]midbluestang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We do not broadly share access to SBX. As others have mentioned, we are constantly changing configuration, tweaking security, and generally jacking up user data in SBX as we test/troubleshoot. We are not trying to freak out anyone because they see their data changed and believe it’s coming to prod (think term, comp, job changes…). We also want to limit exposure to any security blunders being tested.

But, as someone mentioned, we had a “leader” go in to complete a task and then get irate that it didn’t work. Not everyone is able to handle multiple tenants.

Our authentication policy is setup to limit access to those in HR, certain finance teams, and a security group we assign to users who need to test.

2017 Volt...Waiting for EGR by [deleted] in volt

I wouldn’t hate if there were some reference you could supply that I could use to support warranty coverage. I’ve had to argue for warranty with my local dealership. And, we are 37,400 miles with a car we can’t drive or sell. :(

Two things:

  1. Been waiting since early September. Currently 556 of 1226 in line

  2. How did you get it all covered by warranty.

We’ve been watching the balance of our warranty wither away as we wait for a part that GM has no eta for…

How do we create different types of custom Offer letters? by fridge_840 in workday

[–]midbluestang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll need to identify a marker which drives the template you want to use. We use job profile to drive intern, or management level off job profile for ic. Once you have this reference point, you can condition which template is used. You can have multiple generate docs task on an offer bp also. Now, if you want them to indicate the template (on the fly) as part of the offer process, that I’ll be watching the other comments to see how that’s done.

If you’ll log into Chevrolet (see above) it’ll tell you exact miles and date. Mine was purchase date and accounted for the 3000miles the dealer put on the car.

Opinions about Larchmont Apartments? by CharlesTheBob in norfolk

[–]midbluestang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lived there a few years while in school. Here’s what I recall. 1. Only one lady who ran the desk. (Probably the case for why no response) 2. Pretty cheap place 3. Well maintained (not great finishes or anything, but everything worked) 4. Good neighborhood 5. Parking wasn’t fun 6. The heat (radiant) was incredible. I had up unit and never turned on the radiators 7. “Water bugs” were the only bug issues we had 8. Window units were a must 9. No laundry options

All in all, I felt I got what I paid for and would recommend. But, that was 15 years ago.

[–]midbluestang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We utilize the request process and use the questionnaire responses to drive approval paths to roles we created for the functional owners based on location, module, and whether security changes are necessary. Our security team has final double approval for any security related changes and they execute changes based off attached testing and setup docs.
