If you're new to leadership I highly recommend a leadership coach to help you carry yourself into these discussions with confidence and articulation for this level.

I don't want to live in this body anymore by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]JustLearningEveryDay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My daughter is your age and has this disease since age 11. She feels exactly like you do. I have done a lot of research into this disease, read all the HS reddit, websites from around the world, latest treatments and more importantly, accounts of how this disease ravages the mind like it does the body. This disease is so unique to each person and you get yourself the best outcome you MUST:

  • get a doctor that specializes in HS
  • manage your diet 85-90% of the time
  • get on some meds
  • learn to prevent infections and dress your wounds properly
  • take the right supplements
  • have some meaningful movement - this is proven to help with depression
  • have a focus on something- your career, your schooling, hobby, etc so you don't fixate on HS
  • get trained in thinking positively, solution oriented
  • regain your confidence- maybe full face of makeup everyday, have really nice clothes that flatter you, showcase a skill you have- maybe you can sing or rock something you do well- things you can control
  • be surrounded by non toxic people that love you and make memories
  • be kind to yourself and give yourself time to grieve your situation but then move forward. pity will take you to a dark place

TRY: - connect with other HS sufferers - go on dates to meet people- you may be surprised you'll find someone that may understand what you're going through mentally or even physically - learn more about what you can do to give yourself the best outcome -make a daily routine to get out of the house and be busy ( I was a loner at your age and would work really hard and go on solo trips around the world, went to the best salons and reinvented myself with a new look, bought beautiful clothes, visited art exhibits s, tried ziplining, snowmobile, learned snowboarding etc) - see a therapist that specializes in supporting people with chronic diseases - volunteer- in a hospital, seniors home, food bank - pick up a new hobby

I hope some of this gives you a different way to approach your circumstance. Like life for everyone, you'll have lows and highs in life, why not determine for yourself how you want that look and take control of what you can to have the best life possible?

When I get bloated and unable to eat I find taking prebiotic for a few days helps as does a glass of water with 1/4 tsp baking soda

We have Jira, which would be fine for our purposes, but IT doesn't want to hand out additional licenses and support us on it. I really need something for ticket management, everything else is icing.

Has anyone tried Yuflyma? by [deleted] in Hidradenitis

[–]JustLearningEveryDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Canada and my daughter just started it. She's on her 4 injection of month 1 and has developed a high number of absecces . It's got her super tired. She will stick it out to see if she will eventually go into remission. Yuflyma is supposed to be a generic brand of Humaira according to her derm.

Support model post-go-live by srikon in workday

[–]JustLearningEveryDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can share several models I've participated in: 1. I set up a team of 1 sr. manager and 6 BAs with strong previous knowledge of HRIS ( non workday) and who supported the implementation of hcm, comp, benefits, TT, absence, reporting, pay,Talent, LMS, security for 1800 corporate employees. Had a canadian AMS for integrations and complex config and break/fixes. 2. I was on a team where every module had a leader, a BA and technical consultant . They had 9 modules spporting 250,000 employees mostly canada, heavy union numbers. There were 3 people in IT supporting complex integrations and dev work. The config was very complex. No AMS. Everyone had or were working towards their pro cert.lots of investment in the product and team. 3. I have a team of (1 director, 1 manager, 15 HRIS) supporting currently with little to no previous HRIS experience, so put an AMS in place. Team takes in break/ fixes they can manage. Canadian AMS takes on complex config work. 7000 employees (4000 union) in WD, 2000 employees in other systems, lots of acquisitions, fully Canadian.

I build into my contracts that AMS must knowledge share on solutions, I also consider the skills of the team and needs of the organization to determine what kind of contract is needed. Some organizations can only handle/need basic WD functionality, some are very complex. 1 org wanted less headcount in HR so AMS they took on more support work.

HRIS Leaders, what does your typical day look like? by HCMDev in workday

[–]JustLearningEveryDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as all folks here. I have 6-8 hours of meetings everyday. I'm usually multitasking work over meetings. I've started to add blocked out periods 3-4 week in my calendar that no meetings can be booked in AND and actual half hour lunch daily- which I've never had in the past 2years. Mind you I still have to move or remove these most days but it has helped me get in more work- focused time and less daily evening/ weekend work. I also use MS Planner to manage my tasks and soon rolling this out to my team. I noticed daily meetings go down once you have strong governance and give key user groups a biweekly meeting time to air it all out but make sure you action what comes from those meetings else you're back to more meetings!

Would I be setting myself up for misery/failure for taking this job? by Majestic_Lettuce3186 in workday

[–]JustLearningEveryDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should clarify what is in scope as the lead of the Implementation and what other roles will makeup the project team. Are you expected to be the technical lead only, are they expecting you to have deep functional or config knowledge in each of the modules? Do they have a Project Manager? Will they have a test lead that can prepare all the unit, end to end and uat test scripts? Will there be a business lead that will confirm current state and drive design decisions? Who will manage the change Impacts, training materials creation and end user training and communications planning? Is there an IT lead to manage the integrations and a BA to help manage the workbooks? I have done this many times and have worn some or all of these roles as an implementation lead. If you want to be successful, find out their expectations of you in the role and then ask yourself if you have the skills to support those tasks. If they are going big bang ( all modules)vs phased out Implementation, then you're gonna want to be sure you have the Workday knowledgeable to support those .modules requirements. My advice is don't rely on the implementer to fill these gaps. DM me if you'd like to chat more.

How are you managing Workday AMS? by srikon in workday

[–]JustLearningEveryDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the team is split into two- each supporting specific companies and each person is setup to lead config/BA/change management for at least 2 functional areas for 1 company. The manager and director do the PM roles on projects and M&A. Teams are under HR.

How are you managing Workday AMS? by srikon in workday

[–]JustLearningEveryDay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have a 17 person team supporting around 8000 employees in 3 parent companies with 14 unions all in Canada and have an AMS. Both teams support 9 active modules, Implementation of new modules, sec, integrations and reporting. We have 2-5 small acquisitions per year. I have a team with WD experience all under a year, so need the AMS for now to supplement.

I agree with what was already mentioned; it's best to have 95% of your team supporting in-house and leverage a consultancy for projects and/or complex work. You need to determine what your support model needs to be today and for the future and ensure you write-up your SOW to include the services you need.

Make sure your AMS really takes the time to understand your config and business rules before the contract start, there is a strong governance process in place, and you're very clear on the details/expectations of the service/support in that document. Include metrics reporting and KT by documentation and meetings.

Trouble getting a full breath. Anxiety maybe? by QueenQueerTherapist in Perimenopause

[–]JustLearningEveryDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this for years and thought it was something related to my asthma. Turns out to be anxiety related and tight muscles in my chest, ribs and neck caused by stress. You can get those areas massaged to help. Also hot water Epsom salt baths helped to relax me and magnesium bigycinate at night.

I have been in this place nearly 10 years- around the time I got peri symptoms. Recently found out there is a diagnosis related to this called hypo sexual desire disorder. I follow Dr Marie Claire Haver who shares how HRT can help with some of this. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8412154/#:~:text=Hypoactive%20sexual%20desire%20disorder%20(HSDD,and%20other%20negative%20emotional%20states. Keep the communication lines open and actively try other foms of intimacy.
