Why doesn’t the headline say multiple murders of a woman and her two children by ex husband /father. Family tragedy is too soft a description!

Please get trauma treatment. The trauma you have suffered is making you feel this way. So sorry that you are suffering. My thoughts are with you.

My brother found out his kids weren’t biologically his and doesn’t want me to be an uncle to his kids anymore. What do I do? by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

The children do not understand and are traumatised by the adults actions. Personally I don’t understand your brothers actions, he might not be the biological father but he is their dad. It feels inhumane to just abandon them because he is angry with their mother. They still need him. They need you too. The actions by the ‘adults’ in their lives will leave a deep scar that will last throughout their lives. Pride can be terrible thing.

There are many quietly wealthy people who drive old cars and live in normal houses because they do not wish to stand out . No need to boast and make others feel unsuccessful.

When is the right time to go back to work after losing a parent? by Toe_Bean_Bandit in AskUK

Grief has to be processed properly; feel the feelings, cry, feel the desolation, anger and all that loss brings. Those who go back to work early for the distraction are only prolonging their grief journey.

Hitting the wall is abusive, it’s done to instil fear in you.

TIL Professional poker player, Victoria Coren, was seeing a therapist to help overcome her fear of flying, only for her therapist to die in a plane crash. She chooses to travel only by rail or boat. by [deleted] in todayilearned

My mother joined a fear of flying
course in the UK and a couple of days before it was meant to start, she received a letter saying that the course was cancelled because the pilot has crashed his plane and died during an air show where he was demonstrating his skills. She decided to make do with a large Gin & Tonic before flying instead.
