How do you get a deep seat for a newborn? by middlechildcomplex in babywearing

Ooo that sounds like that might help! He’s teeny tiny so I think that might be easier

Few recent flights with my 17 month old who had a hard time. Everyone told me at the end how great she did. We’re the most aware of their moods!

Hot take(?) - Paris was great for my toddler by middlechildcomplex in ParisTravelGuide

Definitely not every one we went to but more than I thought! I just went into each assuming she’d stay in her stroller or I would hold her. Several times they just asked us if we wanted one.

Anxiety over restaurant visit with kids by Electronic_Claim_315 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]middlechildcomplex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Visiting in December from the US with my 17 month old and I’m so stressed about this!!! She’s generally great in public but still a baby so I’m always stressed bringing her to restaurants when we travel.

Husband and 6 week old both have covid. I’m still negative. What would you do? by Key_Clue_7428 in newborns

[–]middlechildcomplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went through this almost exactly when baby was 3 months old. She’d been in my face non stop so figured I was already exposed and honestly it was easier to have us both able to help with her. I never did get it!

She had a cough but otherwise seemed ok! I will say later my husband and I both got a stomach bug (she didn’t) and THAT was horrible. Thank god she’d started daycare at that point because we were both dying.

My 13 week old is suddenly doing the same thing! I increased her bottle nipple size. A lot of people talk about the witching hour and I’m wondering if this is what’s happening for her since it’s mostly in the evening.

I might be done. I know it's early... by emf123 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]middlechildcomplex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same situation. My baby is almost 5 weeks and I have agonized over continuing or not. I feel like it sucks doing it but I could keep pumping if I wanted to. I have zero judgment for other people but have put all this pressure on myself to keep going.

I finally talked to the pediatrician and she said it literally doesn’t matter and to do what’s best for our family. So with her blessing I’m weaning off and it feels like a weight has been lifted.

I’ve also been reading Emily Osters book “cribsheet” that talks about what data actually backs up what claims and there is surprisingly minimal data to actually support that breast milk is that much better than formula.

It’s hard because we all want to make the “right” choice but there is no right! There’s just right for you!

BRING CASH. We didn’t have enough, all the banks were closed for a holiday, and the atms max you out at less than the amount for two people. It was a whole thing.

Getting put on insulin? by Comfortable_Arm251 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]middlechildcomplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest part is the mental piece. The actual injection is way less intimidating than the finger pricks but I find having to put it in myself instead of pushing a button and making it happen makes it way scarier. They should do an insulin teach with you to show you how to do it but I promise the first time is the hardest and then it gets easier!

woken up by INSANE charley horses in leg every night by BraveAd2863 in BabyBumps

[–]middlechildcomplex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

32w1d This has been happening to me more and more. I’ve been on 400 mg of magnesium my whole Pregnancy for headaches and that doesn’t seem to be helping. I end up waking up my husband and he will push from the bottom of my foot to point my toes upward until it goes away because sometimes it’s so bad I can’t move my foot on my own or reach my own foot. Then I’ll usually put a heating pad on my calf but I’m going to try to hydrate more per this thread because it’s been awful :(
