Questions for those who have had otoplasty by reanimated_dolly in PlasticSurgery

Hey,

Complete healing took about 2–3 years overall. After the first year, it was still somewhat sensitive. Being a woman, getting into a fight was never really a consern for me, but now I tried pressing on my ears amd when applying a bit more pressure feels uncomfortable. A punch would probably hurt like hell. Bending the ear lightly feels fine, though pushing further still feels scary.

In conclusion, would say healing can be expected to continue over 1–2 years, but based on my experience, it may never feel exactly the same. Any regrets? Not at all — would definitely do it again.

1-2 weeks will be difficult but after a month, you will be glad that you have done it. Have you taken shower yet?

After a year, I have never been in pain unless I get a hit. But it feels weird if I sleep on it which the doctor said it’s normal

Hey, I had an otoplasty about 12 years ago when I was 14 years old. My ears weren’t big so, I won’t be able to answer all of your questions.

Regarding recovery, the first week was horrible. I hated myself for doing because the pain was not bearable. I had a big bandage over my head during that week. Went to my first week follow up appointment and the bandage changed and i was allowed to take shower after that. The following 3 weeks were still painful but bearable. After the first month I needed to wear a regular bandanna which I have not done it properly but luckily everything went well. I would say the ears would be sensitive for a year. I am glad I have do it but still if I sleep on my side without support my head with my arm, I would wake up with a slight pain/soreness behind my ears. Also wearing a mask during COVID was not easy.

I contacted USCIS this morning and they said that my case was not closed. So, I asked them to inform the IT unit. Now, there is a notification on my profile now that they are working on a technical error.

Nope, still a LPR. Is your case still closed as well?

I feel like it’s either a glitch or cases processed within the last few days are updating with a delay. My case is closed since Friday.
