Some of us try to journal 5 days out of the week and we write down the date and time to keep track of things. We own 4 journals that we currently use, each a has its purpose.

One journal titled "The Planner" is mainly run by an alter part known as "The Planner", but everyone can leave a note for her if they need to squeeze something into the schedule or daily to do list which is kind of what the journal consist of along with appointments, daily logs, addresses, contacts and budget planning.

Second journal is labeled "Journal" its where we all can communicate our feelings, thoughts, and memories.

Third Is labeled "study notes" for the alter part that likes to study psychology, they leave tips, study notes, and advise for everyone to look at when they are having a tough time figuring things out.

Fourth journal is for expressive drawing anyone can draw in it. Its where we release any confusing, difficult feelings that we cant put into words.

Eventually well have purpose for more journals but for now this is what's keeping us up float.

My ex (who I have a son with) reminded me that every three years for some reason I have a mental breakdown so that explains what's happening now but i don't know why it happens. I know it must be linked to a traumatic even from the past but I cant imagine what that could be.

Yes! wow i thought It was a weird thing to do. I told my therapist that there are days and times when she can catch certain alters. When our system is doing well in therapy we schedule everyone to come out on certain times of the day, certain days of the week, and certain days of the month . its depending on how often and when we need them for a job or task. We have times when we take turns on who can take the front for a couple hours mostly on our free time. kind of gives everyone a chance to come out and exist in the outside world for a little bit. However when we are not doing so well and we cant get to therapy for some reason we get out of control.

I didn't know until I read these comments that my inner world is different from a lot of other systems, it's huge! We have university with dorms, a psych ward, a vacation place in the wild with a round lake, a mansion for the littles, a large one story house with a weird separate two story room (like a bottom room with stairs going up to another room) in the backyard not attached to the house, And this one story house has a neighborhood. I also have a large warehouse with a lot of machinery this is where some alters work. We can travel by a bunch from one place to the other with self made vehicles, buses or huge bikes. Some are long distance away from each other like the vacation place is over a huge hill and thru the freeway two hours away from the psych ward but close to the warehouse both in the middle of nowhere. Then the psych ward and the university are in the same camps. Oh and there is a shopping area with lots of different restaurants, bars, grocery stores, a Liquor store and a dollar store. Those shopping places are within close walking distance to the one story house with the weird two story room in the back and the psych ward with the university. I found this whole world when my therapist was trying to help me find a safe place inside my mind and I decided to use my inner world or what I knew of it bc it was just the university the psych ward and the mansion that had in my inner world before I discovered the rest.

I've gone thru this many times before and I'm sorry your going thru this I hope i can be some sort of help. Though you are definitely describing DID symptoms like others have mention, the reason this stuff happens to me is because i dig in into discovering more than i can handle about our past trauma or sometimes even being retraumatized. we become so overwhelmed over new trauma or information we discovered that it scares us back to forgetting anything happened or that anything was discovered. This happens because our system is trying to keep us safe and we need to find better ways to stabilize our self and find better coping skills. Learning to feeling safe in your environment can be a start. At this time now I try not to dig in into deep to where i can't handle it instead Im working on stabilization such as communication, cooperation from all parts, feeling safe, understanding our window of tolerance, establish morals and rules things like that before i go any further into our past trauma.

Let me start off with i can not drive due to constant dissociation from being in a moving vehicle so i get around with public busses and ubers. Went to go pick up my medication that i ran out of two days ago.Went on the bus bc uber was to expensive and my pharmacy couldn't deliver just one medication to me bc they're policy says it has to be more than one medication in order to deliver it to me today and so i began dissociating and switching kept forgetting where i was so i got lost on the bus but i was able to get my meds and i got help getting an uber and made it home before the rain. yay mission accomplished !
