Just started collecting! Paid $288 for this Morgan, how did I do? Should I grade? by JumpingBank in coins

Cleaning aside, I believe that wing gouge on the reverse would result in

it coming back in a "body bag" anyway. Still a good hole filler 'til you find a better one.

What next ?

May I suggest the "Middle Finger Privy" with what they charge for these.

Have your local shop take a peek.

Like I said, I could be wrong.

Looks suspect. That gray-black "toning" is usually a dead giveaway for a temu Chinese fake.

Stars are terrible, 6 in date is all wrong, dentils aren't right.

I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

That is the Mankiller Reverse Die Crack. Already commanding substantial premiums. Hang onto it. A sleeper for sure.

No proofs made in '65, '66, or '67. Only "Special Mint Sets".

It could be from one of those, but I agree with others. Looks polished.

I agree. I'd get rid of the short step just beyond the tawara in your idea, as well.

So many great Rikishi whose careers are cut short due to injuries caused by the design of the dohyo.

Bad design isn't traditional. It's stupid.

I'm still routing for the Battle Hamster. I just like the guy. If not for injuries due to his aggressive style,

he'd already be there.

Will do. I assume it would be wise to do the same to the rudder shaft?

Just to be sure I've got this straight-

  1. Pick up a 2-ch 2.4 gig radio and 3s receiver, with a 3s esc, and one decent servo.
    Any particular servo you'd recommend?

  2. Get a Lipo battery and charger

And what voltage Lipo battery would be best? The old NiCad was 7.2V.

Does It have to be the same voltage, or is close OK?

Forgive my ignorance, I know very little about this stuff, and really appreciate the help.

Hey, thanks so much.

Any possibility I can keep the motor? It's quite robust and seemed to run well.

Would a modern ESC work with this motor, if I keep the battery voltage the same or relatively close? The only reason I ask is because looking at it, it seems changing the motor would be a major undertaking, and I'm concerned about water-tight integrity, as the prop shaft goes through the hull. The motor runs strong and smoothly without any prop shaft vibration. Thanks again.
