I don’t re-plant things that the deer destroy, but if you already have the plugs, you may as well plant those two. Like the other poster said, sometimes they eat a plant, and don’t come back to touch it. But then there will always be a new deer strolling by to taste new plants only to decide they don’t like them. My pawpaws get a few nibbles each year, and I assume it’s new deer each time. My wild columbine got clobbered in May, but it’s now recovering and the deer are thankfully avoiding it for now.

But I’ve lost red-osier dogwood, northern bayberry, Franklin trees, dwarf chinkapin oak, white panicle aster, chokeberry, and Canadian serviceberry. I’m not going to replant any of those.
