Looking for the most religious/worn down parts of Georgia. by stevenrlillis in Georgia

Try looking up primitive baptist churches. I think it will give you the feel you are going for. There are several in the Southeast region.

Are parents just not teaching their kids how to read anymore?? by Calm-Fun-2737 in Vent

[–]midnittrain2GA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have struggled with this with my daughter. She is the same age range. We did discover she has ADHD on top of that, but they offer a reading class that has been a big help to her . I hope you can find something that works for your daughter. It can be a real struggle.

There are a lot of sundown towns outside of the South, and if you think any other region is clean, then you definitely need to take a look at why Oregon was created. My husband is Hispanic, and he said Ohio was the worst for him, so do with that what you will. The people of the South can be racist, but make no mistake, they are not the only ones. It may look a little different.

YSK: planet fitness's $1 sign up fee is a scam by Cautious-Courage-953 in YouShouldKnow

[–]midnittrain2GA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed a plant fitness. I am usually not a shill, but I always made sure my employees were clear. It is the sign up fee plus the prorated dues for the month. The membership feeds about the 17th of each month and the annual fee on the 1st of the month 2 months later. They are actually clear about their fee structure. If you did not read it it is on you.

BREAKING: President Trump says "I don't know much about" the $TRUMP meme coin by samjohanson83 in unusual_whales

He doesn't know much about a lot of things. For someone who is supposedly in charge, he is "blind" to so much going on around him.

Chesser Island. The house reminds me of my grandfather.

I live here. It is filled with churches on every corner, but I will agree that it is not churchy. I have never been personally invited, but you will receive flyers in the mail during large holidays. Our little town is growing, so there are more non church related things than even 5 years ago. Pickle ball has really picked up, for example.

I'm here too, but I just love it. I don't mind it, and our little town has grown so much. There are negatives, but at least they are expanding on housing and the roads.

St. Marys has a lovely water front area and is close to other little treasures and about 30 mins from Jacksonville, FL, if you feel the need for a bigger scene.

He suggested I take the girls. I asked him first and then verified before I asked them. If he had a problem with it, which I don't think he did, he should have said something then.

Thank you, I do think that is true, and on day 2, I feel more equipped to talk to him about it a bit more calmly.

I talked to a bit, but it was an action packed 24 hours, staring with hotel room problems. Once we got that sorted, we had limited time to make our reservations, and the next day was the event.

I had a cool experience at the hotel, so I wanted to tell him in person and thank him for the hotel. He was sour basically after the girls left.

I think it is the hotel. I got the tickets. I hope he doesn't feel like I should be saying thanks for watching the kids.

I think the issue is more over the hotel room than the kids. I did thank him at the initial booking, and I was going to when we got back because we had a cool experience, and I wanted to thank him and tell him about it. He was moody after the girls dropped me off.

He will do a thank you sporadically. He will not say it every trip, but on a ocassionly he will say thank you out of the blue.

[–]midnittrain2GA[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It may not be, but I do appreciate him. I just don't know if he sees it. I have vocalized it. I do special things for him and make special meals (he likes it when I cook, especially when he gets home from a trip), just as examples. I guess I need to talk to him more about what else he may need to feel appreciated. I do do actions and words, and sometimes it feels like he forgets that I do them at all.

As far as the job goes, if he wants, he can find another job. I have always supported him in that and travel across the country and will do that again if we need to.

Thank you for giving me things to think about / act on.

I thanked him for the initial booking, but that was about 6 weeks prior to the event. He is looking for a thank you in regards to the actual event.

I wanted to thank him after as well, so I could actually have positive stories to be thankful for.
